Despite a very violent history and an intolerance of poor service delivery from the public sector, South Africans seem to be extremely tolerant of poor customer service when provided by a service provider that is charging them. This is truly odd. Whether in a restaurant or an incorrect bill from a cellular service provider, the SA consumer is often far too timid to voice their concerns or objectio

ns. Perhaps the fact that they are alone and not in a large group is the main reason for this. I have always been very vocal when spending my hard earned cash and receiving a raw deal. I never keep quiet. SA service providers are geared towards a war of attrition with unhappy customers. They simply send them from pillar to post, cut them off, threaten with credit bureaus or are blatantly rude in the hopes that the unhappy client will simply pay up and shut up. I have started this page to give all those that have not felt up to the challenge of tackiling consumer related issues. Consumer Protect is operated by one person on a voluntary basis. The services provided are free.

However, we are inundated with requests that we simply cannot attend to.

In an effort to improve on this, we are seeking volunteers that can assist is in helping the multitude of consumers wronged on a daily basis.

Good day friends. We must apologise for the lengthy period of silence. Other commitments have kept us away. For those of you that do not know, we are not a portal for complaints and hot air. We actually take time and effort to assist you get positive results from your service providers. This may be related to warranties, fees, deliveries, refunds or any other service related issue. The best part is, we do it for free. So inbox us. Spread the word. Nobody should ever disrespect your hard earned money!

A powerful tool to use against serice providers that do you wrong is to take the matter to the small claims court. No lawyers are allowed and you can summons the compnay CEO to come anywhere from Springbok to Matatiele!
