A pivotal moment in gathering our delegates was the B2B session, where deal origination took place among industry peers and across sectors.

Networking vs. Deal Origination: What’s the Difference?

Networking is about building valuable connections for future possibilities, while deal origination takes it further by actively seeking and structuring specific business opportunities.

Think of networking as planting seeds and deal origination as harvesting the crops.

Both are essential for business growth—networking builds relationships, and deal origination turns those connections into real opportunities!

In a space primed for connection, every corner, whether the corridor buzz or the quiet auditorium pew, becomes a potential meeting ground.

Just showing up is sometimes enough; the room does the rest, weaving unexpected connections.

Here, networks formed naturally, pulling toward someone whose journey complements one's own.

And as East Africa and South Africa meet, bridging rich histories and ambitions, it becomes clear that presence alone can spark something greater than the sum of its parts.

Connections like these are about more than being seen—they're about creating a shared future across our diverse but interconnected landscapes.

Our esteemed speaker roll highlight was led by the keynote speaker, H.E. Ambassador Gebeydehy Ganga Gayito.

Brand S.A.'s Lefentse Nokaneng expressed his excitement about the future trade prospects between South Africa and Ethiopia and South Africa now that Ethiopia has joined the BRICS + alliance.

We received cross-border trading insights from Ricard Isaac from Dube Trade Port and Waymaker Trade Solution's Thina Nodada. We also invoked hope in the township economy and deliveries with Delivery Ka Speed, a model whose groundwork could take shape efficiently in Ethiopia's largely rural economic scape.

Delivery Ka Speed was funded through Aions Creative Technology. Kerryn Campion explained how the FSP gives the public an opportunity to invest in and support similar, innovative startups through them.

ABSA sealed the discussions facilitated by Mlamuli Mbambo, where Weli Ntuli and Jabulani Skosana shared information with attendees about the available facilities and financial resources to fuel international trade.
