Rain and wet roads dramatically increase the risk of vehicle accidents.

⛈️ Slow Down: The speed limit is for dry conditions. Reduce your speed significantly to account for reduced traction and longer stopping distances. Wet roads can double your normal stopping distance.

⛈️ Increase Following Distance: Double your usual two-second following distance to at least four to six seconds to give yourself more time to react.

⛈️ Turn on Headlights: Use your low-beam headlights to increase your visibility to other drivers, even during the daytime. Do not use rear fog lights unless visibility is severely reduced, as they can obscure your brake lights.

⛈️ Avoid Cruise Control: Do not use cruise control in wet conditions, as it can prevent your vehicle from decelerating quickly if you start to hydroplane.

⛈️ Brake Gently: Brake earlier and more gently than you would in dry conditions. Hard braking can cause your vehicle to skid.

⛈️ Steer Gently: Avoid sudden movements, including sharp turns or acceleration.

⛈️ Watch for Standing Water: Avoid driving through large puddles or standing water, which can lead to hydroplaning. If water covers the road markings, it is likely too deep to cross.

24/7 Security recently deployed a team to provide professional security services at AGL Terminals in Cape Town Harbour. A key function is maintaining strict access control and accurately recording all personnel, vehicles, subcontractors, truck drivers and vessel-related movements using the ATG system.

Security Officers are responsible for monitoring container movements, including verifying and scanning container seal numbers, conducting regular perimeter patrols, identifying security or infrastructure deficiencies, and promptly reporting any abnormalities or incidents.

Given the constant movement of vessels, personnel, vehicles and high-value cargo, strict compliance, accurate record-keeping and consistently professional security practices are essential to maintaining a secure and well-controlled environment at the site.

FLEET ADMINISTRATOR / DATA ANALYST

24/7 Security has a vacancy for a detail-oriented, analytical Fleet Administrator / Data Analyst to oversee our fleet operations, optimise logistics, and leverage data to drive down operational costs.

You will manage fleet software platforms, analyse response and vehicle data, maintain tracking systems, and ensure seamless coordination across our operational units.

The person will be based in Wynberg, Johannesburg.

The following criteria will be our basis for selection:

➡️ Key Responsibilities

- Data Analytics & Cost Reduction: Utilise systems like Simply Fleet, Oryx, and SAGE 300 to analyse fleet metrics, track fuel/mileage trends, create exception reports, and drive proactive cost-saving strategies.
- System & Platform Management: Oversee live tracking, geofencing, onboard cameras, response mobility (RM) databases, and software integrations to optimize reporting capabilities.
- Incident & Fleet Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations into accidents, long response times, operational incidents, and client complaints; coordinate weekly accident tribunals and implement corrective actions.
- Fuel & Asset Administration: Monitor daily fuel card usage, track vehicle consumption, issue/cancel fleet cards, and enforce vehicle maintenance and cleanliness standards.
- Reporting & Compliance: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly fleet performance, response-time, and KPI dashboard reports for executive management while maintaining strict policy compliance.

➡️ Requirements & Skills

- Proven experience in fleet administration, logistics management, or operational data analysis.
- Proficiency in fleet management tools (experience with Simply Fleet, Oryx Tracking, LSN, or SAGE 300 is a major advantage).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate vehicle and response data into actionable operational insights.
- Experience handling accident claims, investigations, and incident reporting.
- High level of administrative discipline and technical aptitude for system integrations.
- Sound knowledge of AARTO system
- Excellent Microsoft Excel knowledge/experience
