🚨🇿🇦 GANG VIOLENCE IN CAPE TOWN: ANOTHER SOBERING REMINDER OF THE FIGHT AGAINST ILLEGAL FI****MS

📍 STEENBERG | WESTERN CAPE

Five suspects have been arrested following a deadly shooting in Military Road, Steenberg, in which two men, aged 23 and 37, lost their lives.

According to reports, the suspects allegedly fled in a red VW Polo before abandoning the vehicle and hijacking a Toyota RunX in an attempt to escape. Police apprehended the five men shortly afterwards, with two assault ri**es reportedly recovered during the operation.

The City of Cape Town’s Law Enforcement officers also assisted in the pursuit, with additional resources, including aviation support and K9 units, deployed during the search.

The recovery of assault ri**es in connection with a gang-related shooting highlights the serious danger that illegal fi****ms pose to our communities, law enforcement officers and innocent members of the public.

Following intelligence received regarding a hijacked truck carrying solar panels in Kroonstad, a coordinated operation was conducted in the De Deur area.

✅ Hijacked solar panels valued at approximately R3.5 MILLION recovered.

🚛 Multiple trucks and trailers seized.

🔧 Forklift, generators and power tools recovered.

🔢 Multiple suspected counterfeit registration plates discovered.

👮 One suspect detained.

🚨 SUCCESS REPORT | VANDERBIJLPARK 🚨

🇿🇦 EXPOL SECURITY TACTICAL UNIT IN ACTION

On 14 October 2026, an intelligence-driven operation in Vanderbijlpark resulted in the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of an unlicensed fi***rm, am******on, cash and a vehicle.

The operation targeted individuals allegedly linked to a criminal network involved in hijackings, motor vehicle theft, kidnapping and extortion.

During the operation, the following items were recovered:

🔹 1 × Suzuki Bolero
🔹 1 × Ruby .38 Special revolver with its serial numbers filed off
🔹 6 × live rounds of am******on
🔹 R9,000 in cash
🔹 3 × cellphones

The successful operation was conducted through the collaboration of CI Sedibeng District Aggravated Robbery Team, Vanderbijlpark Visible Policing, Expol Security Tactical Unit and VRU Town Reaction DB77.

Expol Security Services, together with JMPD K9, JMPD, COMPOL and BELREX Innovation, successfully assisted in the recovery of a wanted Toyota Tazz along the R82 near Jackson’s Bottle Store.

After receiving information about the vehicle, members responded swiftly and located it. When the suspects attempted to flee on foot, one suspect was apprehended while the second managed to escape.

✅ One suspect arrested
✅ Wanted vehicle recovered and booked in at Aeroton SAPS Pound
✅ Suspect handed over to Mondeor SAPS

During patrols, Midvaal Law Enforcement spotted two suspicious vehicles, one towing a mobile generator trailer.

Expol Security was called in for backup. Our reaction team responded and assisted in stopping and securing the vehicle.

🔎 Checks confirmed the generator trailer was reported stolen.

👮‍♂️ One suspect arrested and the Isuzu bakkie and trailer seized.

🚨 VIGILANT RESIDENTS HELP KEEP WEST COAST SAFE 🚨

📍 Velddrif ,Western Cape

A routine walk along the beach turned into an unexpected discovery when vigilant residents came across a case containing am******on.

Not immediately realising what they had found, the residents acted responsibly by contacting security as soon as possible. 👏

Expol Security was quickly notified, and the matter was secured while the relevant authorities were contacted.

Police later attended the scene, collected the am******on and took statements for further investigation.

✅ No arrests were made.

This incident is another reminder that community vigilance and quick communication can make a real difference.

A big thank you to the residents for doing the right thing and reporting the discovery immediately.

Evidence was handled with care !!
