Operations Lead – ISP Wanted/Telecommunications Division
Umbrella Corporation ZA is seeking a senior Operations Lead to take full operational responsibility for its ISP division. This is a leadership role for an individual capable of running an ISP operation end-to-end within a structured group environment.
This is not a traditional salaried position. It is a performance-driven role with meaningful upside, reporting directly to the Umbrella Corporation ZA Board of Directors.
Role Overview:
The Operations Lead will have full accountability for the day-to-day operation, growth, and performance of the ISP division. Umbrella will provide the core infrastructure, systems, and shared services; the role is focused on ex*****on, scale, and results.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall leadership of the ISP division
Design, deployment, and operation of wireless and fibre networks
Oversight of network performance, uptime, and service quality
Data centre exposure, including upstreams and interconnects
Subscriber growth, onboarding, and retention
Sales ex*****on and development of recurring monthly revenue
Management of operational staff and field resources
Cost awareness and operational discipline
Establishment of processes, standards, and reporting
Board-level reporting on performance and growth
Required Experience:
Strong hands-on experience in ISP environments, including:
Wireless (WISP, PtP, PtMP)
Fibre (FTTH / FTTB advantageous)
Data centre experience or exposure to carrier-grade environments
Solid understanding of ISP operations and scaling challenges
Proven ability to operate independently with full accountability
Management and leadership capability
Sound business and commercial judgement
Location:
Role is based in Deneysville
Candidates residing in or near the Vaal area are preferred
Accommodation can be provided for a limited onboarding period if required
Compensation Structure:
25% profit share of the ISP division
Performance/Profit-based remuneration (no long-term fixed salary)
Small basic stipend provided for an initial onboarding period only
Upside is directly linked to operational performance and profitability
Context:
This role is intended for someone who wants ownership, autonomy, and accountability, rather than a conventional job. The successful candidate will effectively run the ISP division as a business unit within the Umbrella group.
This opportunity will not suit candidates seeking a fixed salary or a narrowly defined technical role.
