At Avo Vision, the focus is on enabling businesses to move from participation to growth, from support to sustainability, and from opportunity to long-term impact.

On Day two of the Trialogue Business in Society Conference 2026, under the theme ‘Voices. Values. Vision’, conversations will centre on the evolving role of corporate social investment, including a strong focus on early childhood development (ECD) infrastructure, digital inclusion, and innovative approaches to funding and partnerships.

Avo Vision’s participation in this conference is grounded in the meaningful work we have delivered in the ECD sector. In partnership with the Industrial Development Corporation’s Social Employment Fund, we have driven impactful programmes across Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and North West- strengthening both the quality of early learning environments and the sustainability of ECD centres as viable businesses.

Our approach goes beyond traditional ECD support. By equipping practitioners and centre owners with both educational tools and business skills, we have enabled ECD centres to improve learning outcomes while also becoming financially sustainable, resilient enterprises within their communities. This work reflects our core belief in bridging education and enterprise to unlock long-term socio-economic impact.

We are attending the conference not only to contribute to these critical discussions, but also to share insights, showcase proven impact and collaborate with like-minded stakeholders to scale solutions that advance the ECD sector in South Africa.

Avo Vision Recognised for Early Childhood Development and Community Impact in Itsoseng

Since 2024, Avo Vision’s investment in Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres in Itsoseng, Nooitgedacht, has delivered a meaningful and lasting impact within the community.

Through targeted training, educator stipends and ongoing mentorship, the programme strengthened practitioners and families, building a more stable foundation for quality early learning while advancing dignity, economic participation and long-term resilience.

The Itsoseng Young Ecologist Cooperative continues to drive community-led sustainability initiatives, including:

•Dry waste recycling

•Biogas production from organic waste

•Agricultural activities supporting food security and livelihoods

These efforts address environmental challenges while creating income-generating opportunities and promoting self-sufficiency.

Avo Vision’s work reflects a clear commitment to sustaining people and communities, investing in education, enabling local enterprise and empowering individuals to lead change.

Recently, Avo Vision was recognised for its contribution to ECDs and community upliftment.

The award was received by Esther Mphigalale, Avo Vision’s Environmental Project Manager within the Enterprise Development team.

Reflecting on the recognition, Mphigalale said: “The work hasn’t been easy but it’s been consistent. Seeing the progress in the centres and the commitment from the community makes this recognition meaningful.”

This recognition reinforces the power of collaboration and the impact of consistent, community-driven development.

Reviving Busiswa Day Care: Building Community Sustainability Through Early Childhood Development

Through Avo Vision’s partnership with the IDC’s Social Employment Fund (SEF), siblings Andrew Nkuna and Joyce Molefe began their journey as Field Coordinators in 2024, working at grassroots level to support programme implementation, engage directly with community members, monitor activities on the ground and report on social impact. This hands-on role exposed them to the real needs of families and children within their community.

What started as meaningful employment soon evolved into a powerful vision to create a safe, compliant and education-focused day care centre in Zonkizizwe, Johannesburg.

Guided by Avo Vision’s Enterprise Development department, which is dedicated to turning livelihoods into sustainable, long-term businesses, the siblings received business mentorship, basic financial literacy training, operational support and compliance guidance tailored to community-based sectors such as Early Childhood Development. With this support, they were able to transform a stable income into a thriving ECD enterprise that supports early learning, creates local employment opportunities, strengthens community resilience and contributes to local economic growth.

This story reflects community sustainability in action, where skills development, entrepreneurship and Early Childhood Development intersect to build safer spaces, stronger foundations and brighter futures for children.
