Strategic Timeline Management (Pty) Ltd is a private consulting company founded in 2013 with the goal of providing our Clients with quality Project Management, Project Support and Project Controls services, expertise and guidance. Our main focus is on fulfilling the comprehensive needs of Client managed projects through various stages of the project life cycle and for the duration of

the project life cycle. Working together with our Clients, Contractors and Sub-Contractors we strive to streamline and focus on the success of the project no matter its size and complexity. About STM

Systems and Coding

With a multitude of software packages available and the diversity of both the Clients and contractors we offer alignment between the various coding structures to ensure that the entire project is managed correctly and effectively.

Policies and Procedures

Projects are completed using contractors and sub-contractors, each applying a unique procedure or policy to implement internal processes and this can from time to time delay the project completion all together.

We align all project policies and procedures to accommodate a harmonious working environment and to ensure total accountability and transparency between Client and the contractor.

Cost Control

Direct and Indirect Costs

Projects are commonly greater than the scope of work issued to contractors and sub-contractors, we ensure that all Projects costs are accounted for and reported against including SIB and growth costs.

Budget and Feasibility Estimates

Projects are mainly driven by available and approved finances and budget forecasts, we offer the capabilities to compile an accurate budget and cash flow for all types of projects and scenarios.

We also effectively apply cost management principals and align the reporting with the Clients financial systems and time periods.

Implementation Cost Control

Effective cost control on projects is key to understanding the current cash flow forecast, commitments and the available funds to complete the project.
We have experience in most cost control systems and also the functionality to integrate these into planning and reporting systems.

Escalation Models

Predominantly driven by current market indices, project escalation is often managed by the Clients financial department, understanding the projects escalation model can improve decision making around scope, time and cost activities within the project environment.

We develop and manage escalation models for project financial forecasting based on either global indices or Client group specific indices.

We produce various levels of FEL based schedules ensuring the entire project scope is represented and accounted for.

Feasibility Studies

With the key focus on starting projects correctly, preparation during Feasibility stage is crucial in ensuring a smooth roll out once the project receives the green light.

We produce various schedules containing different levels of detail based on the Clients requirements.

Implementation Schedules

The implementation schedule is an integral part of Project Management and we deliver a multitude of schedules from management milestone schedules to level 5 resource loaded commissioning schedules.

Ensuring the entire project scope and project life cycle. is captured to achieve and report on a realistic completion date.

Schedule Risk Analysis

Schedule risk analysis is a fundamental function of forecasting. Risk analysis and scenario planning are both key elements to any projects success and allow our Clients to plan for the known unknowns.

A good Risk Management strategy can also be aided by providing a number of Scenario Schedules enabling the client to make the correct decision.

Recovery Scenario Planning

Projects are adversely affected by known unknowns and often require the development of recovery schedules to bring projects back on track. Projects can however not recover lost time, with skilled planning and recover schedules the project team can re-focus its efforts to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget, successfully.

Forensic Analysis

We offer a full range of Forensic Schedule Analysis on project master schedules, contractor and sub-contractor schedules and supply a comprehensive report on the findings. With these in depth investigations into the various schedules, planning principals applied or omitted we factor and report on all available and pertinent information to the project.

Project Integration Management

Projects on occasion involve more than one set scope of work and more often than not, outside factors influencing projects are not accounted for at Project kick-off.

By applying Project Management fundamentals in co-ordinating and controlling all activities within the Project Management process we ensure integration of the entire project scope throughout the project life cycle.

Integrating Project Cost and Financial Systems

Clients have an established financial system, at times these are not ideally suited for the Project environment. We provide an integration process aligning financial reporting requirements incorporating the project cost control system, project time schedule and procurement processes for accurate traceability, reporting and management.

Earned Value Management

EVM implementation on all projects aspects, contractors and sub-contractors to assess performance throughout the project lifecycle. based on the project time schedule and cost performance.

Dashboards and Reporting

Project reporting is important, as is the quality of the information provided to Clients by contractors and sub-contractors.

We provide reporting templates, dashboards for progress and performance monitoring that is direct yet informative and accommodates a broad audience. Reports and dashboards are developed to the Clients specific reporting requirements.

Change Control

Effective change control is key to any projects successful completion, the key to effectively managing change and to control the impact of that change is to ensure an effective Change Management System is in place from the start of a project and is maintained throughout the project life cycle.

Contracts Management

We offer Contract Management services on all contract models including NEC and FDIC. Effectively managing contract establishment, implementation and analysis of contractors and sub-contractors.

The Client

When managing “for and on behalf of” our Clients on a project we contribute as if it were our own. We provide the necessary knowledge, guidance and training (as required) when managing contractors and sub-contractors. Working together with the Client as an integral part of the owners team we ensure compliance and accountability across all knowledge areas and aspects of the project.

Project Management

Project success is impacted by the Project Management processes and the availability of the correct resources with the correct knowledge.

Following the internationally recognised PMBOK standard we provide qualified individuals to manage our Clients projects.

We also contribute valuable guidance and training to our Clients project management team on the fundamentals and implementation of project controls and management.
