This is how a Curtain Wall takes shape.
Sharing our Curtain Wall space today is Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, one of the most influential architects of the modern era.
In 1921, Mies presented his vision of moving away from traditional load-bearing walls and embracing steel structures and glass to create a new architectural aesthetic. His ideas helped pave the way for what we know today as Curtain Wall systems—lightweight, non-load-bearing exterior walls that allow buildings to take on a new relationship between structure, glass, and light.
A true pioneer whose vision continues to influence architecture today.
