The members of the Sekhukhune District Tracking and Investigation Team, operating under Dennilton SAPS in Limpopo, arrested a 49-year-old security company owner for possession of unlicensed fi****ms following a tip-off received on Tuesday, 03 February 2026.

Acting on information about the suspect, the team proceeded to a residence in Slovo Section, Dennilton. A search of the property resulted in the discovery of nine fi****ms, including three rifles, secured inside a safe. No ammunition was found.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the fi****ms belonged to a liquidated security company based in Sandton, Gauteng Province, and were previously leased to the suspect. The suspect has been charged with contravention of Section 3, read with Section 120(1)(a), of the Fi****ms Control Act for possession of unlicensed fi****ms.

The 49-year-old suspect is expected to appear at Moutse Magistrate’s Court soon.

One suspect was gunned down shot and two others arrested following a shootout with police on Allandale Road in Midrand this afternoon.
👮‍♂️ were responding to a lookout for a Hyundai i20 that had allegedly been involved in a business robbery in Olivenhoutbosch when they spotted the vehicle on Allandale Road (suspects were arresting on high speed chase)

The suspect is alleged to have severely assaulted a woman with a sharp object in Mookgophong before proceeding to Seshego, where he allegedly strangled his partner to death on Monday, 26 January

The person reporting the firearm can do so anonymously, or they can share their details with the trusted SAPS officers that will field the calls.

The details of the person reporting the fi****ms will under no circumstances be made public.

Upon reporting the firearm, it will be collected by SAPS. Once it is confirmed as an illegal firearm, R 1 500.00 will be awarded to the individual who reported it. When an arrest is made that is directly linked to the firearm, a further R 1 500.00 will be paid to the person who reported it and should there be a conviction that is tied to the firearm, the balance of R 2 000.00 will be paid out to the person who made the report.
