WHO IS INVESTING IN THE FUTURE OF SOUTH AFRICA'S SMALL BUSINESSES?
South Africa has no of potential. It lack' sufficient investment in developing, supporting and sustaining that potential.
As we launch the Small Enterprise Development & Finance Agency Namakwaland Enterprise Coaching Programme, I am reminded once again why interventions are so important.
In remote communities such as , small businesses operate under particularly challenging circumstances. Limited access to markets, business development services, funding opportunities, professional networks and specialised expertise can significantly restrict their growth.
Yet, despite these challenges, we continue to encounter with extraordinary . They do not lack potential. They lack access to the and that can unlock it.
Through this 10-month enterprise coaching programme, Global Marketing (South Africa) has the privilege of working with 30 small businesses, providing practical guidance in strategic planning, financial management, marketing, operational efficiency and sustainable business growth.
But this programme also raises a much bigger question:
What is South Africa's doing to actively support the development of our economy?
We have highly profitable businesses operating across numerous industries. Imagine the impact if more of these companies committed even a small portion of their resources towards structured, measurable enterprise development initiatives.
Not once-off donations. Not merely ticking a corporate social responsibility box.
Real . Real . Real . Real, measurable .
Supporting small businesses is not simply an act of goodwill. It is an investment in economic participation, stronger supply chains, local employment and the long-term sustainability of our economy.
The private sector has an opportunity to become a far more active partner in building the next generation of successful South African . At Global Marketing (South Africa), we believe enterprise development must move beyond good intentions to practical implementation and measurable outcomes. My invitation to corporate South Africa is simple:
If your organisation is serious about making a meaningful contribution to small business development, lets have a conversation. Together, we can design and implement structured enterprise development programmes that make a lasting difference in the communities where support is needed most.
Because when small businesses grow, communities grow. And when communities grow, South Africa grows.
