WHAT INSPIRED RRE. SELEBOGO TO BE A TEACHER:
He is inspired to be a teacher by the love to share ideas with others and to work with the youth from an early age. Most importantly the inspiration was also drawn from the love of seeing others equally succeeding in what they aspire to.
IMPACT OF EDUCATION AS VIEWED BY HIM:
In his own this is what he has to say: For me the impact of education on the life of someone is the practical transformation of a person’s level of knowledge, behaviour, attitude and the ability to express talent and skills in the manner so unique with radiating love for it.
HIS PROUD MOMENTS OF LEARNERS HE ONCE TAUGHT:
He still keeps in contact with many of his previous learners & proud of all of them, however one his highlights are the achievements of the following learners he taught:
1. Mr. Boitumelo Oliphant (St. Boniface High School) – Investment Banking consultant for Standard Bank Foreign Exchange division (Previous positions: Assistant Vice President Banking Space Amalgamated Banks of Switzerland)

5. Served as signatory and executive member of the Northern Cape Arts and Culture Council between the years 2000 – 2005. Provincial Executive member of NACTED Network between 1997 – 2000
CHALLENGES HE FACES IN THE DILIGENCE HE IS INVOLVED IN (BEING AN EDUCATOR AND BEING AN ARTS ACTIVIST)
Resourcing appropriately has always been the major challenge in executing my work in every sphere I have found myself, and the easy way out has been my creativity and using my own resources.
Sacrifice and the love for what one is doing is always propelling one forward amidst all challenges experienced.
The biggest challenge experienced daily as a teacher is having learners coming to school purposelessly because of the family and community problems they confront everyday. First approach to that is to create an environment of hope and the believe in self to navigate to greater heights in life.
FUTURE ASPIRATIONS FOR THE GENTLE GIANT:
Is creating a great platform of learning and exchanging knowledge and skills in the subject of Geography for learners and teachers.
He has established a celebratory event called Geography Festival in 2018, which reached 10 schools attracting 186 learners and 10 teachers.
GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT IN TEACHING AND ARTS
To me my greatest achievement is not in the awards and medals that I receive for a job well done, but I pride myself with the success of those that I have groomed and worked with.
Today I still relate to and mentor those that have learnt from me, and I celebrate in their successes. For as long as I still breath in life, I have not yet achieved excellence for there are still many more to touch and affect positively, let alone one’s limitations and flaws.
HIS WORDS OF INSPIRATION TO THE BLACK BOY CHILD
We are built and recreated by our own thoughts of life every time we look at ourselves and others.
Our actions consolidate our thoughts whether right or wrong, it is our choices that complete our journey to our achievements.
Black boy child, nothing in life makes you who you are in life unless you let it because you are capable of embracing it.
Choosing right is best.
HOW HE SEES THE GALESHEWE GENTLEMEN’S DINNER CONCEPT ASSISTING THE COMMUNITY TO GROW
In embracing the celebration of men in society is the foundation of modelling and moulding a responsible father and gentleman who unquestionably accepts leadership in building stable families and communities.
Let every gentleman who has been celebrated by the GGD celebrate one young man or boy whom they have affected positively every year to grow the circle of celebration and affecting the life of the Black boy.
HIS ADVICE TO THE BLACK BOY CHILD
Education is the foundation self-establishment and navigation through life’s challenges.
END.
Rre Tebogo Selebogo, the entire team of the GGD is immensely proud of your achievements and is applauding you on the positive contribution you made & continue making to the community you reside in.
We wish nothing but the best for you in future and super strength to continue impacting positively towards the growth of our communities.
May you continue growing dear black brother.
Importantly continue being the beacon of hope for the black boy child and being a positive Role Model we seek for our communities.
Learn about your own, celebrate and embrace them.
