OUR PROJECT:
A comprehensive business directory and trusted service provider database for Klerksdorp. Online research, keen observations and comments made by family and friends as well as our own experience when trying to find service providers and useful contact information for local businesses made us aware that Klerksdorp is in dire need of a comprehensive business directory. Many of Klerksdorp

’s residents experienced financial loss due to incompetence and sly business ventures, which lead to the conclusion that a trusted service provider database would be an asset to the community. Due to lack of information many reputable businesses that normally offers good service and value for money suffered the consequences of bad online reviews by frustrated customers. In most cases the affected business owners did not know about these reviews, the comments that followed and the negative impression it had on prospective buyers. In some cases loyal customers, friends or family saw these posts and they were able to respond in a positive manner which in turn improved their reputation. We noticed all of the above and much more and eventually decided to get actively involved in this matter and to provide a workable solution for business owners and prospective buyers while adding value to the local community. Our mission is to provide Klerksdorp with an up to date business directory comprised of trusted service providers and useful other useful info. This directory must be easy to access and available in all formats including a document that can be downloaded, forwarded via e-mail and printed. We will create, maintain and promote a database of trusted service providers and assist them in maintaining a reputable online presence by informing them about any online mentions their business receive. To make this possible we need to inform every business and service provider in Klerksdorp of our intention and involve them in the process of creating the database and business directory. The next step will be to inform the community about the business directory and if a business or service provider is not listed they should proceed with caution when dealing with them or use a trusted service provider instead. We will make it easy for consumers to rate their experience with trusted service providers and encourage them to write reviews to ensure more exposure. We already have the basic structure in place and will start the process with a survey that businesses can complete to their advantage. It will be sent via e-mail to our e-mail list with a request to forward to others. We will also create an online campaign to involve others and depending on the results we receive plan the next step.
