Altyd Welkom is situated in the heart of the Cradle of Humankind. We have a cozy thatched self catering cottage, the Houtkapper unit, and a smaller unit, the Swaeltjie. Within approximately 20 km radius, you will find something for everybody to do. To name a few attractions, you will find Maropeng, Sterkfontein Caves, Rhino and Lion Park, Hot Air Ballooning, Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens and Sho

pping Malls. Or you can explore the Crocodile Ramble or Magalies Meander. The only "Upside Down House" in South Africa, is within 30km. There are also numerous wedding venues in the area. Your will always feel welcome with your friendly hosts, Andre & Wilna who has a positive outlook on life. The cottages are situated on a small holding with lots of fresh air, clean borehole water and lots of space for children to run around. Houtkapper unit consist of one bedroom with a queen size bed, as well as a loft room with 2 single beds. The toilet is separate from the spacious bathroom, which has a corner shower. There is also a small kitchen with living area. Outside is a covered braai area. The Swaeltjie unit has one bedroom with queensize bed, seperate bathroom, kitchenette and a daybed in the living area.

Our Story

Nestled in the heart of the Cradle of Humankind, these cozy self catering cottages offers the ideal accommodation when visiting Gauteng. Within approximately 20 km radius, you will find something for everybody to do. To name a few attractions, you will find Maropeng, Sterkfontein Caves, Rhino and Lion Park, Hot Air Ballooning, Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens and Shopping Malls. And don’t miss the upside down house - the only one in South Africa! Only 37km from here. There are also numerous wedding venues in the area, like Makiti, Monte Vista and Engedi. Your will always feel welcome with your friendly hosts, Andre & Wilna who has a positive outlook on life. The cottages are situated on a small holding with lots of fresh air, clean borehole water and lots of space for children to run around. Our Houtkapper unit has a cozy living area and kitchenette. The cottage consist of one bedroom with a queen size bed, as well as a loft room with 2 single beds. The toilet is separate from the spacious bathroom, which has a corner shower. Outside is a covered braai area. Swaeltjie unit is a bit smaller, with open living area with kitchenette and a daybed for extra quest. It is a one bed roomed unit with queen size bed and separate bathroom.

We do not have DSTV or Wi-Fi. Enjoy the outdoors instead, play some games or read that book. Or you can sit around the fire and watch the sun set. You may even be lucky to hear the barn owls hooting, or a jackal call in the distance. If you love birding, you will enjoy our abundant bird life.
