Happiness Is Not a Feeling — It’s a Behaviour
We often think of happiness as a distant emotion some people are lucky to feel. But as Dr. Arthur Brooks teaches, happiness is not a feeling — it’s a behaviour. And behaviour is something we choose.
As the year ends, take a moment to reflect:
• What genuinely makes me happy?
• Which actions are for myself, and which involve others?
• Am I focused inward or outward?
Research and experience show that doing things for others creates compounded happiness — lifting the giver, the receiver, and even those who witness it.
Try this simple test:
Give someone in a group a sincere compliment. Watch how the mood shifts not just for them, but for everyone around.
Happiness grows through small, intentional actions — especially when they’re directed toward others.
Try it with your team, colleagues, or clients and see the ripple effect.
