Mamre was nog altyd ’n plek waar mense mekaar ken en na mekaar kyk.

Maar soos oral, verander dinge. Ons wil nie wag totdat ’n probleem groter word voordat ons iets doen nie.
Daarom gee Oakshield Security ekstra aandag aan ons Mamre Patrol.
Ons nuwe patrol voertuig is op die pad, ons span doen hul rondtes en ons is hier om ons deel te doen.

Your social media posts could be telling criminals more than you realise.

Sharing your holiday location while you're still away, posting a photo outside a venue at night, or checking in publicly at events — all of this tells anyone watching that your home is empty.

This isn't about being paranoid. It's about being aware that criminals do monitor social media, particularly in areas where they know residents are active online.

Simple habits:

→ Post holiday photos after you're back, not while you're away

→ Turn off automatic location tagging on photo posts

→ Be mindful of who can see your posts — review your privacy settings

→ Don't share your daily routine publicly (gym at 6am, home by 7, out by 8:30...)

Your Community Policing Forum (CPF) is one of the most underused tools for neighbourhood safety in South Africa.

The CPF is a formal structure established under the South African Police Service Act. It creates a bridge between the police and the community — giving residents a channel to raise concerns, share crime trends, and hold SAPS accountable at a local level.

Anyone can attend CPF meetings. You don't need an invitation.
