CUSTOMARY MARRIAGE REGISTRATION DEADLINE: 31 AUGUST 2026

If you entered into a customary marriage and have not yet registered it with the Department of Home Affairs, time is running out.

The special registration period for qualifying customary marriages ends on 31 August 2026.

Why does this matter?

When an employee passes away, establishing the correct family and marital relationships can be an important part of identifying and tracing potential beneficiaries of outstanding funds and benefits.

At TEBA, our Tracing Services assist employers and other stakeholders in locating individuals who may be entitled to deceased funds and benefits.

Make sure your customary marriage is registered and your records are up to date.

Deadline: 31 August 2026
