Keep Mbekweni Clean, in partnership with Cape Winelands DM , spent the day with learners in Mbekweni painting a colourful environmental mural, planting lemon trees ππ³ and learning about recycling and waste management.
When asked what he learned, Jaden from Edube , Mbekweni had a simple but powerful message:
π€ "Illegal dumping is the papers that we throw on our streets."
Sometimes the biggest lessons start with understanding that every piece of litter has an impact on our community.
Through fun and practical activities, learners discovered:
a. Why recycling matters.
b. How litter affects our environment.
c. Ways to keep Mbekweni clean and healthy.
d. How young people can become environmental champions.
As we celebrate Youth Month and World Environment Month, we're reminded that today's learners are tomorrow's leaders.
By teaching environmental responsibility now, we're helping to build a cleaner, greener Mbekweni for everyone. π
