100 operational hours. A significant milestone, and one that is earned, not simply accumulated.
Today we proudly recognise Pieter for reaching 100 operational flight hours** with Saphire Blue Drone Training and Operations.
Behind those 100 hours are real missions, real responsibility and operations where skill, judgement and professionalism have mattered. They include some demanding and technically challenging environments, working alongside security teams, assisting with inspections of illegal mining sites, carrying out precision flying for stockpile surveys and counts, and operating in situations where calm decision making and expert airmanship are essential.
One operation that particularly stands out was Pieter’s involvement in the search and rescue effort earlier this year for a missing aircraft. Working as part of the search effort, the aircraft was successfully located. A powerful reminder that the skills we develop as professional drone pilots can have a very real purpose beyond the everyday operation.
Pieter, thank you for your dedication, professionalism and willingness to share your knowledge and experience with those around you. Your calm and expert airmanship, particularly during some very intense operations, is something we greatly value.
We are proud to have you associated with Saphire Blue and sincerely appreciate the incredible work you continue to do.
Congratulations, Pieter, on a hard earned 100 operational hours.
Here’s to the next 100 and to continuing to fly with purpose, professionalism and pride.
