My people as I wake up, today, I'm reminded of a revolutionary slogan that was commonly chanted throughout South Africa during apartheid era. "Wonke umuntu itshe esandleni" which directly translates to "everyone must carry a stone"
It actually meant everyone must get busy, there should be something you carrying as we move forward, among masses as we were toyi toying, others would spot stones and take them, some would not bother.
This is happening even today, we all are shouting land expropriation, radical economic transformation, BEE's, BBBEE's, AA's, Free Education and all this interesting changes that will result in betterment of black man's life, a question is how many of us are carrying stones in their hands??
One needs to carry a stone at all times, you have to get busy, your mind needs to carry stones, there's a Zulu idiom that says "umqondo uya thatha uyabeka" your mind needs to be busy,,it doesn't end with your mind being busy but physical implementation of whatever you have on your mind, be prepared to fail, as it happened with most mass toy toying we have had. We would end up being chased by policemen, get distracted and disbanded.
Amongst masses there were izimpimpi, people that ran with us but hoped for different results, they ran with us but hoping that our toyi toyi fails. it happens with our lives today.at your workplace, in your church, at school, even in your family, you may have those that operate with a spirit of izimpimpi, they pretend to be with you but they are not.
The spirit went on and on, at night we would gather again in the morning we take a different direction in order to reach our destination, but what made us strong was that we were prepared to carry stones regardless of how little or heavy those stones were.
In 2018, everyone must carry a stone (matric certificate, trade certificate, business certificate, all kind of tools you will need to progress in life, as I close this little piece,,,I chant once more "WONKE UMUNTU ITSHE ESANDLENI. "
