Asparagus spread :
Preparation: 8 minutes
Cooking: 220 minutes
Yield:2 cups
Kj per tablespoon: 90

1 tin (410g) asparagus cuts
Half cup 40g grated Parmesan cheese
Half cup mayonnaise
1 large clove garlic, peeled and finely chopped

1: preheat the oven to 180°C. Drain the asparagus and chop it coarsely.
2: in a mixing bowl, combine the asparagus, cheese, mayonnaise and garlic. Using a rubber spatula, scrape the mixture into an ungreased small casserole dish and bake, uncovered. Serve hot, warm or chilled as a spread for savoury biscuits or toast rounds. If used as a stuffing for open mushrooms, bake the stuffed mushrooms at 180°C for 5-10 minutes.
