What if restoration is not a pause from growth, but part of it?

Spring reminds us that renewal takes time. There are seasons for resting, restoring, letting go and making space for what comes next.

May this season bring you renewed energy, fresh perspective and room to grow.

Wishing you a beautiful and restorative weekend.

THEY DID IT. 🎓

We are closing out Women’s Month on a high as we celebrate the graduation of the 2026 Basali Accelerator Programme cohort;  a powerful group of female entrepreneurs who, over the past few months, have been learning, scaling, growing, showing up, putting in the work, and accelerating their businesses to new heights.

This is more than a certificate; it’s a launchpad for what comes next. To the Basali Class of 2026: go build, go lead, go soar!

Some conversations give you information but others make you rethink how you show up.

The Basali Accelerator brought women into a room with Godi Mogajane, Molefe Pooe, Shaun Pilly and Siduduzo Ntshangase for an honest look at what it really takes to navigate the rooms where decisions are made, opportunities are created and relationships are built.

The conversation went beyond business. It was about how you carry yourself, how you build your network and your tribe, how you support other women, how you protect your identity and how you make sure your work speaks for you when you are not in the room.

There were insights to take away, questions to sit with, and for many, some serious homework. Thank you to our incredible speakers for opening up the room and to every woman who leaned into the conversation.

Meet the Panel

Inside the Room: What Male Leaders Want Female Entrepreneurs to Know.

There are conversations that happen in boardrooms, investment meetings and decision-making spaces that can shape who gets noticed, who gets trusted and who gets the opportunity.

On 20 August, we’re bringing that conversation to you.

Meet the leaders joining the conversation:
Siduduzo Ntshangase - Head of Enterprise Banking Propositions & Enterprise Development, Standard Bank

Godiragetse Fareed Mogajane - Founder, Delivery Ka Speed SA & Anzisha Prize Fellow

Shaun K. Pillay - Founder & Chief Executive, SKP Investment Group

Molefe Pooe - Business Strategy Facilitator, Entrepreneur, Author & Executive Coach

They’ll take us inside the room, sharing perspectives on leadership, credibility, strategic relationships and what female entrepreneurs should know when positioning themselves and their businesses for greater opportunities.

This is your chance to hear what isn’t always said out loud, ask the questions that matter and take those insights back into your own business journey.

20 August 2026
16:30 – 18:30 SAST
Platform: Zoom

The room is open. Make sure you’re in it.

And just like that, we have wrapped up our Work Readiness Programme with Standard Bank.

Over the past three days, Standard Bank interns have been challenged to think beyond their qualifications and consider what it really takes to navigate the workplace, from effective communication and collaboration to overcoming challenges and taking ownership of their personal and professional growth.
Being qualified is one thing. Being ready for the workplace is another. That’s the value of work readiness.

The programme may be complete, but the workplace journey is only just beginning. We are excited to see how these future professionals apply their learning and keep growing.

What happens when you’re qualified for the job but not quite prepared for the workplace?
That’s the gap we’re here to close.

Today, we’re working with over 80 Standard Bank interns as they transition from university into the world of work. This programme is about more than workplace skills. It’s about preparing young people for the realities of a professional environment.

Workplace readiness isn’t just about what you know. It’s about how you think, how you show up and how you grow.

Behind who you are today is a woman who has encouraged, sacrificed, believed in you,
taught you, protected you or inspired you.

Today, we invite you to pause and recognise those women.

Whether you’re leading in the boardroom, running a business, raising a family, studying towards a dream, serving your community or simply showing up each day with
courage, your impact matters.

As South Africa marks Women’s Month under the theme “Building Resilient Economies for All,” we celebrate the countless ways women strengthen our homes, workplaces,
communities and future.

This month, take a moment to celebrate the women who have shaped your journey and, if you’re one of those women for someone else, know that your impact reaches
further than you may realise.

Happy Woman’s Day.

This month, we celebrate the women who lead with courage, build businesses, create opportunities, mentor others and strengthen their communities.

Leadership is not always about holding a title. It is about creating opportunities, inspiring change and shaping what comes next.
Giving Wings remains committed to empowering women to lead with confidence, unlock their potential and shape what’s next through lasting impact.

Here’s to every woman who chooses to lead, inspire and shape the future every single day.

Happy Women’s Month.

As July comes to a close, it is the perfect time to reflect. Have you grown in the way you hoped you would when the year began?

Growth is not measured only by milestones. It is reflected in your leadership, confidence, decisions, and willingness to keep learning. Real growth happens when showing up becomes a choice, especially when progress feels slow. Those moments shape resilient leaders, professionals, executives, and entrepreneurs.

Giving Wings exists to create opportunities that help people grow, lead with purpose, and reach their full potential.

As you look ahead to the rest of the year, what is the one area of your growth you are committed to before the year ends?

Tuesday Reflection | Five Years of Building Legacies

Some journeys are measured in years. Others are measured in lives changed.

As we reflect on five years of the Basali Programme, we celebrate more than a milestone. We celebrate women entrepreneurs who have transformed ideas into thriving businesses, businesses into opportunities, and opportunities into lasting impact.

From where the programme began to where it stands today, one thing has remained constant: a commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, networks and confidence to grow.

Five years on, the impact is measured not only in businesses built, but in communities strengthened, futures changed and legacies that continue to grow.

Here's to five years of impact, and to the many more still to come.
