Executive pay reflects what organisations value and how leaders act. Yet many companies still rely on compliance-driven, uniform approaches that fail to inspire.

Building on insights from a PwC UK study of 157 executives, we conducted a local survey targeting the same cohort of executives to explore how incentives are perceived in practice. The findings reveal low satisfaction with pay, a disconnect between short- and long-term incentives, and strong risk aversion.

Read our full report to explore why organisations need to rethink executive pay and design incentives that resonate deeply, guiding leaders to deliver meaningful impact and lasting performance. https://ow.ly/Ua3250Z7VXg

As industries evolve and intersect, productivity is becoming central to how organisations drive value, resilience and growth. Our new Productivity in Motion blog series explores how businesses can rethink operating models to unlock sustainable performance. This seven-part blog series kicks off with a focus on the Make and Build domains — where technology, data and workforce dynamics are reshaping how work gets done and how value moves.

The next 25 years will define how South Africa grows, and infrastructure planning sits at the centre of that transformation. With $582 billion projected in baseline investment through 2050, there’s an opportunity to design cities and systems that unlock productivity, inclusion, and long-term resilience. We’re proudly celebrating International Men’s Health Month by creating awareness, encouraging openness, and fostering a safe space for meaningful conversations and connections.

We were honoured to host an inspiring session with Mpumelelo Mhlongo, Paralympic champion and multiple world record holder, facilitated by Ntsako Mdhluli, SATIC Director. The conversation was powerful and thought-provoking, shining a light on the importance of vulnerability, speaking up, and leaning on one another for support within our communities.

Through engaging and interactive activities, we reinforced a crucial message: men’s health matters. Taking an active role in our wellbeing is not a sign of weakness, but a step toward strength and resilience.

As we conclude our graduation and the Faranani 20-year celebration, one message stands above all—impact like this is built over time, through purpose and partnership.

What started as a response to inequality and limited access to opportunities has evolved into a programme that empowers women, strengthens businesses, and drives inclusive economic growth across South Africa. As Shirley Machaba steps back from the programme, we honour her leadership and the foundation she has helped build—one that will continue to grow and reach even more women in the years ahead. Because when women succeed, communities prosper, and the impact multiplies.

To the graduates, here’s to turning your skills into successful businesses, your ambition into impact, and your journey into lasting success. Congratulations to you all.
