The future of South African wine was celebrated at Bacco Estate in Paarl, where , together with sponsors and .barrels, honoured the 2026 class of 30 Under 30 rising stars. The initiative recognises talented young professionals already making their mark across the wine value chain, from viticulture and winemaking to marketing, hospitality, sales and wine tourism.

The event also highlighted the importance of investing in future talent, with ROTOCON announcing Mpilo Mthembu as the winner of its annual label design competition. Another key moment was the announcement of the 2026 Luminary Award, presented to Tristan Maske for his work as a wine curator, storyteller and community builder. Tristan continues to champion a more accessible, inclusive and relevant future for South African wine.

A great Brand Engagement Day spent with the teams from .za, Synchron, HEINEKEN Beverages and . It was a valuable opportunity to bring everyone together and explore how design, embellishment and brand protection can work hand in hand to support modern brands.

We had some great discussions around foil application, sustainability considerations, brand protection solutions, and how the DREAMCOMPOSER® design platform can help bring creative concepts to life.

Phumzile Dlamini recently completed a PGDIP in Management Practise through UCTGSB.

Phumi's Honours journey had a very important impact on how she shows up, not just as a marketing professional, but as a leader. Beyond the technical knowledge, the programme deepened her self-awareness, maturity and intentionality. Applying theory in real time at work helped turn learning into growth, allowing her to balance short-term delivery with long-term thinking.

Working alongside others reinforced that effective teamwork isn’t about thinking the same way, but about aligning on outcomes, leveraging different strengths and leading with mutual respect. One of the most powerful takeaways was the discipline of continuous self-reflection - adjusting, applying and reassessing with purpose.

Today, Phumi leads with clarity, emotional grounding and a people-centred approach, focused on building trust, creating space for others, and delivering results with intention. Congratulations Phumi on this great achievement.

The Leonhard KURZ Wall Calendar 2026 is a great example of why we’re proud to represent KURZ in South Africa. It’s not just a calendar, it’s a compact “finishing demo” that shows how metallic effects, embossing and texture can transform print into something people keep, display, and talk about.
