This Women’s Day in South Africa, we celebrate the women whose expertise, leadership and dedication help transform mine waste into societal, environmental and economic value.

Women currently make up almost 15% of our global workforce, and we remain committed to increasing this representation. By attracting, developing and empowering more women across our business, we are building a stronger, more diverse organisation that is equipped to meet the challenges of the future.

Today, we celebrate the achievements of the women who continue to shape our business, inspire the next generation of leaders and make a meaningful difference every day.

Happy Women’s Day!

This year, Fraser Alexander spent Mandela Day at Footprint Hospice NPO in Orlando East, Soweto, supporting an organisation that provides vital healthcare services and care to members of the local community.

As a business, we recognise that our responsibility extends beyond the work we do. We are committed to contributing to the well-being of the communities in which we operate, and Mandela Day provides an opportunity to put that commitment into action.

Thank you to the team at Footprint Hospice for the important role you play in the community, and to our Fraser Alexander volunteers for giving their time in support of this worthy cause.

Our purpose is to transform mine waste into societal, environmental, and economic value, and that purpose is strengthened when we invest in people and the communities around us.

Our Dwarsrivier Tailings Operation recently reached an exceptional milestone, 20 years Lost-Time Injury (LTI) Free.

While this milestone is significant, it also serves as a reminder that safety is a responsibility we must uphold every day. Every task, every shift and every decision matters. Thank you to the Dwarsrivier Tailings Operation team for their continued commitment to creating a safe working environment and for demonstrating what can be achieved through care, accountability and looking out for one another.

As we continue transforming mine waste into societal, environmental, and economic value, we recognise that we can only fulfil our purpose by protecting our people.

At Fraser Alexander LATAM, women represent 22% of our workforce across the region, reflecting our commitment to building a more inclusive and diverse workplace.

As part of this commitment, our employees recently came together for a dedicated Women in Mining initiative focused on wellbeing, appreciation, and meaningful connection.

The programme featured an informative women's health session centred on self-care, disease prevention, and overall wellbeing, followed by a tribute celebrating the resilience, leadership, and impact of women across our business. The event concluded with a social breakfast, providing an opportunity for colleagues to connect, share experiences and strengthen meaningful relationships.

We believe a stronger mining industry is built on diverse perspectives and an inclusive culture. Initiatives like these help create an environment where women feel recognised, supported and empowered to grow, while strengthening the connections that contribute to successful teams.

As the mining industry advances, intelligent tailings management is creating new opportunities for better visibility, faster decision-making, and stronger environmental stewardship.

This Youth Day in South Africa, we celebrate the potential, resilience, and determination of our youth, while honouring the courage and sacrifice of the young people of 1976 whose actions helped shape our nation's future.

At Fraser Alexander, we believe in investing in the next generation. Through our partnership with WiMSA and our annual career fairs, we introduce high school learners, particularly young women, to opportunities in the mining industry. We also support graduates, learners with disabilities, and YES learners as they prepare for meaningful careers.

As we reflect on the legacy of the youth who came before us, we remain committed to creating opportunities that empower the youth of today to become the leaders, innovators, and professionals of tomorrow.
