Fraser Alexander recently joined partners and stakeholders for the launch of the new Thuthuzela Care Centre (TCC) Kopanong, followed by a Day of Learning focused on strengthening support for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV).

The new centre was made possible through Seriti Resources’ sponsorship, with the Minerals Council South Africa, NPA (National Prosecuting Authority), Department of Health and GBVF Fund contributing to the broader initiative. Fraser Alexander contributed to furnishing the centre, helping to create a welcoming environment that promotes dignity, comfort, and support.

During the Day of Learning, Claire McMaster, Fraser Alexander’s HR Executive, reflected on the importance of creating an environment where survivors feel safe and supported: “By the time a survivor has crossed one of the hardest thresholds imaginable, when they enter the centre, they need to feel that they are welcomed, respected, and that someone will believe that their story is correct and true.”

The day was a meaningful reminder of what can be achieved through collaboration and a shared commitment to supporting survivors when they need it most.
