As always, the BRS team are actively engaged in supporting and protecting the rural farming community through ongoing patrols, incident response, monitoring operations, and cooperation with law enforcement and residents.
From responding to reports of disruptive and aggressive individuals on private property (and getting attacked with creative weapons like wooden sticks and bricks), to helping identify an individual in need of assistance, resulting in support being arranged to reunite the person with family members, we continue to assist SAPS as far as possible.
Routine patrols have also led to the identification of suspicious individuals within the area. During one such interaction, members discovered quantities of illegal substances believed to be intended for unlawful distribution. The items were confiscated and handed over to SAPS for further investigation and processing.
BRS additionally followed up on information received from community members regarding alleged unlawful alcohol sales at local accommodation facilities. Information gathered during the visit was documented and forms part of ongoing efforts to address activities that may negatively impact the community.
These incidents highlight the importance of community vigilance, effective communication, and the strong working relationship between BRS, SAPS, and local residents. BRS remains committed to maintaining safety, addressing criminal activity involving illegal substances, alcohol-related offences, trespassing, and dangerous behaviour, and ensuring that assistance is provided where individuals may require support.
We would like to thank all community members for their continued cooperation, information sharing, and support. Together, we continue to strengthen the safety and security of our towns and rural farming communities.
