When buying a gas appliance, please make sure that the appliance has a safe appliance certificate from LPGSA.
If it does not have this permit it can not be legally installed and a COC can not be issued.

Some of the most important items for a COC to be valid include:

Gas cylinders must be at least 1meter away from any window or door,

Gas cylinders must be at least 2 meters away from any gully,

Gas cylinders installed outside must be at least 5 meters away from an electrical ignition point eg. Plug, aircon motor and electrical distribution box,

Gas cylinders are not allowed in a garage or cellar,

No electric sockets are allowed under a gas hob or in the same compartment as the hob,
Gas cylinders must be at least 1 meter away from any doors or windows,

The distance between the gas cylinders and any drain or air vents must be at least 2 meters,

Gas cylinders can not be less than 1.5 meter away from a light bulb,

Copper pipes that pass through walls must be sleeved,

Flexible gas hoses(orange hose) must not exceed 2 meters in length and can not pass through any partitions (including wood, dry wall,
cupboard walls etc) without using the prescribed connector.

NO VALID COC CAN BE ISSUED BY A PERSON NOT QUALIFIED AND REGISTERED WITH LPGSA.

ALL REGISTERED INSTALLERS MUST HAVE A ID CARD AS PROOF OR REGISTRATION.

ANY COC NOT COMPLYING WITH THE ABOVE MENTIONED MAY NOT BE VALID AND MIGHT HAVE AN EFFECT ON YOUR INSURANCE POLICY.

Information about COC for gas installations.
All gas installations must have a COC confirming that the installation is has been fully inspected and judged to be safe and leak free.
A COC can only be issued by a registered authorised installer.
When a property is sold a new COC must be obtained.
Gas fire places, braais, gas stoves and hot water systems are all examples of gas installations that requires a COC certificate.
If the home owner does not have a valid COC it might have an effect on the validity of the insurance policy.

Good day friends. Trust all are well.
When purchasing a second hand gas stove, keep in mind that the spares for these stoves will not be available for ever.
It seems as if the manufactures stop manufacturing some of the spares and they become discontinued.
It might be a great idea to first contact the manufacturers, and inquire about the availability of the spares.
