Some of the most important items for a COC to be valid include:
Gas cylinders must be at least 1meter away from any window or door,
Gas cylinders must be at least 2 meters away from any gully,
Gas cylinders installed outside must be at least 5 meters away from an electrical ignition point eg. Plug, aircon motor and electrical distribution box,
Gas cylinders are not allowed in a garage or cellar,
No electric sockets are allowed under a gas hob or in the same compartment as the hob,
Gas cylinders must be at least 1 meter away from any doors or windows,
The distance between the gas cylinders and any drain or air vents must be at least 2 meters,
Gas cylinders can not be less than 1.5 meter away from a light bulb,
Copper pipes that pass through walls must be sleeved,
Flexible gas hoses(orange hose) must not exceed 2 meters in length and can not pass through any partitions (including wood, dry wall,
cupboard walls etc) without using the prescribed connector.
NO VALID COC CAN BE ISSUED BY A PERSON NOT QUALIFIED AND REGISTERED WITH LPGSA.
ALL REGISTERED INSTALLERS MUST HAVE A ID CARD AS PROOF OR REGISTRATION.
ANY COC NOT COMPLYING WITH THE ABOVE MENTIONED MAY NOT BE VALID AND MIGHT HAVE AN EFFECT ON YOUR INSURANCE POLICY.
