🔧 Hesper proves again why they are the trusted name in marine mechanical maintenance and repairs.

Recently, our team undertook dry dock maintenance on a fishing trawler at the Syncrolift in the Port of Cape Town. The project included inspection and repairs to the vessel’s rudder, tailshaft, and stern tube bushes.

Based on inspection outcomes, the vessel opted to fabricate and machine a brand-new controllable pitch propeller (CPP) tailshaft for installation — a testament to our precision engineering capabilities.

Hesper Engineering was entrusted with a critical hull repair on the Sae In Champion in Sturrock Dry Dock.

Our team replaced a 4.8m x 0.5m x 10mm insert, along with six vertical frames — a total of 660kg of steel expertly fitted. Included in the scope of work was the removal and refitting of owner-supplied Zinc Anodes, and opening/closing of both starboard and port sea chest gratings to ensure optimal performance.
