Last night we celebrated more than just five exceptional vintages, we celebrated the enduring story of almost four decades of Grand Classique.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Grand Classique evening with Cellarmaster Johnnie Calitz. From lively discussions and shared discoveries to perfectly paired cuisine. We hope you left with a deeper appreciation for the character and journey behind every bottle.

Our restaurant is taking a short pause for annual maintenance from 1–13 July.

While our kitchen is closed during this time, our Tasting Room remains open daily from 10:00–17:00, where you can continue to enjoy tastings and wine purchases.

Since crafting our first Chardonnay in 1988, this variety has remained at the heart of Glen Carlou.

Today, we’re proud to see that commitment recognised with an exceptional 97/100 score for Glen Carlou Chardonnay 2025 Trophy Wine Show. Making it one of the highest-scoring Chardonnays in this year's competition.

As bittersweet as it is to say goodbye to these old vines, every great vineyard evolves with time.

This week at Glen Carlou, we’ve begun removing two vineyard blocks on the road leading up to the winery. Our Pinot Noir vines have reached the end of their lifespan, making way for an exciting new chapter.

The land will now lie fallow for the next two years while the soil is restored and prepared for new Cabernet Sauvignon plantings destined for our flagship Gravel Quarry wine.

These videos show the process currently underway, with excavators carefully removing the old vines and root systems to prepare the site properly for future planting.
