Join our Cellar Master, Bernard Smuts, for a Paarl Wine Route winemakers dinner at SMEUL Restaurant on 10th of September, alongside the winemakers from Babylonstoren and Survivor Wines.

It is always a good thing when the people behind the bottles sit down with the people who enjoy them. These evenings give space for the stories behind the wine, the decisions made in the cellar, and the small details that don’t always fit on a back label.

From the heart of the Boland means we begin with this place before anything else. The region is ours to farm with pride, to respect with both hands, and to represent in every bottle that leaves the cellar.

Being a Boland farmer is not always easy, but we are always proud. My Boland, Our Boland reminds us that the work begins with our farmers, but it becomes something shared once the bottle reaches your table.

From the heart of the Boland means the work starts close to home. This region is ours to farm with care, ours to represent with pride, and ours to share without making it feel out of reach.

Being a Boland farmer is not easy work, and it has never pretended to be. The land asks for judgement, patience and a strong back, but it gives purpose in return. That is why this place matters so deeply to us, because what begins as our daily work becomes something that can belong to many people once the wine is opened.

The Sixty-40 blends depend on knowing what each variety brings before the blend is made. For the white, Chenin Blanc gives fruit and body, Sauvignon Blanc adds freshness and direction, and the work in the cellar is to bring them together in a way that feels balanced rather than forced.

These are technical wines, but they are not made to feel technical when you drink them. That is part of what we believe in at Boland Cellar: doing the detailed work behind the scenes so that the final bottle can sit easily in your life, carrying our region into your glass without making a performance of it.

Boland Cellar’s outstanding value-for-money wines are recognised by the Fine Wine Awards, and that is news we are very happy to share.

For us, value has always meant wine that people can reach for often, without feeling like quality has been left behind. It is the bottle that lands in the fridge before the weekend, the red opened while supper is being made, the Chenin that travels with you on holiday and the wine you trust because it has earned its place before.

This recognition across the Boland Cellar portfolio means a great deal to us because good wine should never feel out of reach.
