Turning 85 is a privilege, and one we are proud to have reached.

Today we celebrate 85 years of Boland Cellar. Eighty-five years of growers working together, vintages coming through the cellar, and South African w**e carrying the name of the Boland further than the rows where it began.

We know what it means to have history behind us, but we also know that history only matters when you keep doing the work. So today, we honour where we come from, and we look ahead with the same purpose that started this cellar in 1941.

Boland Cellar turns 85 this year, and this Saturday, 10th of October, we’re marking it the way we know best - by sharing w**e with the people who have helped carry us this far.

For every case of Boland Cellar w**e purchased at our Tasting Room on the day, you’ll receive a bottle of w**e on us. There are 85 bottles to give away, one for every year of the cellar, and they’ll be shared while stocks last.

85 years of growers, vineyards, families and bottles finding their way into South African homes. Come visit us and take a little extra Boland home with you.

Two new w**es have joined the Boland Cellar Reserve range, and we are proud to introduce them properly.

Please welcome our Reserve Chardonnay and Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, made with grapes from some of Stellenbosch’s best vineyards and brought into the range with the same care, discipline and intent that guides the w**es we put our name to. The Chardonnay brings freshness and balance, while the Cabernet Sauvignon stands firm with structure, ripeness and the darker character people expect from Stellenbosch fruit.

This is a strong new chapter for the Reserve range. Not loud for the sake of being loud but confident in the work behind it, and ready to be opened by the people who have been part of My Boland, Our Boland from the start.

In 2026, Boland Cellar celebrates 85 years, and that number is a milestone for us. It has been carried through harvest pressure, long seasons, changing times and the absolute belief that working together is still worth doing.

Cabernet Sauvignon requires patience in the vineyard and a steady hand in the cellar and our Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2025 was made with that respect in mind.

The 2025 season gave us the kind of fruit quality that makes the work feel worth it, with good winter rain behind us, a mild and dry growing season, ripe flavours and natural acidity that kept the w**e in balance. From there, the job was to protect what the vineyard had given, not to overwork it or dress it up beyond recognition.

The result is a rich, ripe and subtle Cabernet Sauvignon with depth, structure and enough restraint to keep it honest. It is a Reserve w**e for those who like a red with backbone, made from South African ground and held to the standard we expect from Boland Cellar.

Je suis Afrique du Sud, et l’Afrique du Sud, c’est le Chenin Blanc du Boland.

Notre Classic Chenin Blanc est désormais disponible au Québec dans certains magasins de la SAQ, et c’est une vraie fierté pour nous. Il s’agit d’un cépage qui a beaucoup apporté au vin sud-africain, bien avant que le monde sache toujours comment le nommer. Ce n’est pas un cépage qui cherche à se faire remarquer. C’est un cépage de vigneron, un cépage de cave, celui qui répond toujours présent avec sa fraîcheur, son fruit et son excellent rapport qualité-prix, tout en ayant suffisamment de profondeur pour rappeler pourquoi l’Afrique du Sud a gagné sa place.

Du cœur du Boland jusqu’aux rayons du Québec, cette bouteille porte notre région d’une manière qui nous ressemble. Fièrement sud-africaine. Fièrement Chenin. Fièrement Boland.

The fields change, the sun shifts, and the Boland shows itself differently through every season. Some months bring hard light and dry ground, others bring cold mornings, green rows and the smell of rain moving through the vineyards.

We love this place in all its stages because each season has its work to do. The land never stands still, and neither do the people who farm it. From one month to the next, the Boland keeps asking for attention, and we keep answering in the only way we know how: with care, with patience, and with pride in the place we call home.
