Another day, another incredible job site! ⛰️

Our team recently tackled a 3.3 kV cable fault-finding project on a mountain near Oudtshoorn.

We located two separate cable faults — one on either side of the overhead line. A challenging job, but one our team was more than ready to take on.

And while fault finding is serious business, we have to admit… we absolutely love getting to experience views like these while doing what we do best!

Electrical expertise, challenging terrain and some seriously beautiful surroundings.

⚡ Another solar project successfully completed by Surge Elektro!

For this installation, we installed a 2 × 8kW Sunsynk Hybrid Inverter system, connected in parallel with 20 × 620W Canadian Solar panels and 2 × 16kW Hubble batteries.

A powerful setup designed to provide reliable backup power and make the most of the available solar energy. ☀️🔋

While we primarily install Solis, Sungrow and Sigenergy systems, which we have selected for their excellent warranties and availability through our main suppliers, we are also able to install other brands such as Sunsynk when specifically requested by our clients.

Every system is designed and installed according to the client’s individual requirements and energy needs.

Another project completed by Surge Elektro. Another step towards reliable, efficient energy.

⚡ Recent Project Completed | Eerste Rivier

Our Surge Elektro team recently completed the installation of a new Lucy RMU (Ring Main Unit) in Eerste Rivier.

The existing RMU had failed, causing damage to an 11kV cable in the process. Our team carried out the necessary repairs and completed the following:

🔧 Installed a new Lucy RMU
⚡ Re-terminated a total of 4 cable terminations
🔌 Completed the protection settings on the Fanox relay
🧪 Conducted VLF testing on the cables and RMU busbars before energising the system

Every step was carefully completed and tested to ensure the installation was safe, reliable and ready for operation.
