OVERVIEW

AET Special Operations received information regarding a suspect wanted in connection with theft-related offences and an outstanding warrant of arrest.

Members were immediately placed on high alert and initiated efforts to locate the suspect. At approximately 10:30, the suspect was positively identified at a property on Balhambra Way.

INCIDENT

AET Special Operations members, assisted by Armed Response officers, moved in to intercept the suspect. Upon noticing the presence of security personnel, the suspect attempted to flee the scene but was successfully apprehended following a brief foot pursuit.

OUTCOME

Following the successful apprehension, the suspect was handed over to Mountain Rise SAPS for further investigation and processing in relation to the outstanding charges and warrant of arrest. The suspect remains in SAPS custody.

CONCLUSION

This successful apprehension highlights the effectiveness of information-driven operations, proactive response, and the continued cooperation between AET Security and SAPS. Through vigilance and decisive action, another wanted suspect has been removed from the community.

AET Armed Response members were immediately dispatched and obtained information relating to the suspect's description and possible movements within the area.

Acting on the information received, response members conducted extensive patrols throughout the CBD and successfully located the suspect. Further investigation led to the recovery of the stolen property, which was returned to the complainant.

The complainant confirmed that all stolen property had been recovered and advised that he did not wish to pursue criminal charges.
