On The Way Up

On The Way Up Always look beyond fear and just go for it. Whatever that means to you. I retired two years ago to spend more time with my hubby as he had serious health issues.

He has recovered fully and I count my blessings every day. However, in saying that, for some unknown reason, life has got very expensive. Every month, petrol, grocery's, lights and water just keep going up. I had to start looking for something to do what would bring extra income. I'm not really a sales person, so selling Avon, Tupperware and the like was not what got me excited. I joined all sorts

of Facebook groups looking for people advertising "Work from Home" opportunities. I was taken aback as to what is out there, so many opportunities. Sorting through what to do and was not going to cost an arm and a leg. I stumbled across an advert stating that all I need was a smart phone, wifi, full time/part time and it was a South African company. I clicked on the advertiser’s name and went into her page. I found out she was part of a business called DuePoint. Being the sceptic I am, I went onto the web and typed in DuePoint and was I surprised. There are tons of videos and all of them only had good things to say about how it has changed their lives and recommending DuePoint. I then found an Introduction video and watched it. After watching it I was like hmmm… don’t know, I don’t know that many people, how does one go from Rank 1 to Rank 9 and beyond. So left it. Still looking, kept seeing the adverts for it, then decided to just see, there must be something they are doing that helps them. To cut a long story short, I have joined and am so excited about being part of a wonderful network of people. I know when times get tough and it is happening for all of us, we start looking at ways to cut back and the first things we look at is insurances. And in this day and age it’s the last thing we should be cutting back on, that’s why DuePoint is such a wonderful business for people to get involved with. Not only will you be insured but you can start your own business and also make a recurring income. How does DuePoint work? It’s a networking company, where when you join you buy an insurance for R279 a month and in order for you to earn money you invite people to do the same. It’s that simple. People ask why do you have to pay every month. You are paying for a genuine Insurance, Medicall, Legal Aid and Roadside assist, which you can access at any time. So, if you have read this far, thank you. Would you be interested in joining DuePoint? If the answer is “YES”, please WhatsApp me and let me show you how it is done. Unfortunately, this is only for people living in South Africa and who have a South African Bank account

Salwaa's Cape Malay Cooking
From My Kitchen To Yours - keeping our heritage alive

Ingredients:
10 pieces of firm fish of choice.
Traditionally snoek or yellow tail fish is used. Any firm fish will do
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup sunflower oil to fry fish
1 -2 cup brown vinegar depends how runny you like your sauce
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup sugar or more
3 large onions, sliced
1 – 2 tsp whole peppercorns
1 teaspoon chilli flakes optional
2 tablespoons curry powder
1/4 tsp dry ginger
2 tsp fish masala to spice the fish
Few green chillies slit in half (optional)
5 bay leaves

Method:
Clean and drain the fish.
Wipe the fish dry with a clean kitchen towel.
Season fish with salt and fish masala.
Heat a large saucepan over medium to high heat.
Add the ¼ cup of oil. When the oil is warm, fry the fish few minutes on each side or until the fish is cooked thoroughly. Remove and set aside.

Wipe the pan with kitchen towel to remove the residue from the pan. Add the liquids, sugar and spices, bring to boil. Add sliced onions and turn heat low and simmer for about five minutes. Turn off heat and let it cool down.

Arrange the fish chunks in a Pyrex or glass dish, and pour the sauce over.
Cool down. Cover, and refrigerate for a day or two before eating for the flavours to develop.
The flavour improves the longer it’s left before eating and will keep up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator. Ours never keeps for a week.
Serve cold with crusty buttered bread however my children love to warm it in the microwave.

Enjoy
