Check this batch of reels out. They were recovered out the surf after a boat flipped in November. Notice how much sand gets into the reels in a short period of time on the sea floor. Also cant believe how even some of the handles are bent and twisted. We are busy in the process of cleaning and restoring them. They have all been stripped and given their first cleaning to get rid of the majority of sand and salt and have to be further stripped for a second cleaning to make sure there's not a single grain left in any part of the reels. I will keep you updated on the process of how they come along and returning them to their former glory. Unfortunately, one of the tiagra 16s has become a donor reel as one of the teeth on the high-speed drive gear broke off during the ordeal and there are no spares available to repair it. The rest we should get up and running.

Hi guys. Here is something I unfortunately see far too often on reels that have previously been serviced elsewhere. Seals are either pinched and damaged, put in back to front or completely missing. This just causes damage to internal components of your reels as salt water is able to get inside. Please dont take a gamble with your reels. Get them to S.C.R.S and have them professionally serviced where you can be assured every single component goes back correctly so your reel performs like it should.

This twin power hadn't had a service in a long time if ever. It was a bit of a struggle to remove the pinion gear without damaging it due to a salt siezed bearing, but after a bit of thinking I managed to lever it out. After a comprehensive service and a some new A grade stainless steel bearings it was feeling fresh again.

Hi guys. I just need to share this with you. Here is a stella sw 20 000 PG B that was previously serviced elsewhere. The customer used the reel a couple times and put it away for a length of time. When coming to use it again he found it to be jammed up. Unbeknown to him, his body seal was pinched on assembly and salt water poured in while wading. This unfortunately cost the customer a fair amount to repair but S.C.R.S was able to get his reel back to almost new again. With a new drive train and some A grade stainless steel bearings she is feeling fresh and good to go again.
