2.1.1 Radio IMBOKODO will strive to have 40% talk and 60% music on-air.
2.1.2 These percentages will be maintained in all programmes, with the exception of music driven programmes.
2.1.3 Radio IMBOKODO will strive to have 60% locally produced programmes.
2.1.4 To ensure that the local content is uphold, Radio IMBOKODO will ensure that it’s training programme consistently train volunteers as proced
ures to ensure that there are a pool of producers that is producing local programmes.
2.1.5 Radio IMBOKODO will strive, through it’s selection and training programme, ensure that at least 60% of the presenters are women.
2.2 GENDER POLICY IN RELATION TO ON-AIR
2.2.1 Radio IMBOKODO promotes a gender friendly environment.
2.2.2 At least 60% of all on-air presenters must be women, in order to promote women voices on air.
2.2.3 All presenters and producers will try seek out the voices of women for interviews.
2.2.4 Women will be presented as positive role-models on air, and not be presented in a marginalized way.
2.3 LANGUAGE
2.3.1 Radio IMBOKODO shall promote a spoken language in Kwazulu Natal which is isiZulu.
2.3.2 Radio IMBOKODO will strive to do translations at all times in if we have guests speaking language other than isiZulu
2.3.3 Swearing is not allowed on air, be it spoken word or music, except if used in the context of demonstrating a point. If swearing is used in this instance, a warning should be made before and during the programme.
2.3.4 Radio IMBOKODO will discourage our on-air guest from using swearing as a means of expression.
2.3.5 No sexist language, racial or xenophobia labels will be used on air. If this is found, the relevant person will be suspended until a disciplinary hearing.
