🚨 Attention, South African Employers! 🚨
The Department of Labour and Employment is calling for increased standards in the OHSAct. This means that within the next few years, we may see stricter penalties, including higher fines and even possible jail time, for employers who fail to comply.
There’s a common misconception that the OHSAct applies only to the construction industry. However, this is not the case! Just like the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, it requires all employers—regardless of industry—to provide a healthy and safe work environment.
Instead of reacting to a notice from the Department, which could lead to increased costs, consider being proactive. Hiring a consultant can bring invaluable experience across industries and be more cost-effective than hiring someone permanently.
👉 Stay compliant, stay safe, and protect your business!
