Meet Averil Packirisamy, Founder of Premiere Models by Averil Packirisamy and Mom’s on the Runway đź‘
Averil Packirisamy is a runway and grooming coach, entrepreneur and mentor whose passion for modelling, fashion, confidence and personal development has touched the lives of women and young people across Gqeberha and the Eastern Cape.
Her journey with Premiere Models Academy began in 2008, when she opened the academy to offer modelling and grooming classes to youngsters in Cleary Park, Malabar and surrounding communities. At the time, Averil was still working full-time, building her dream after hours through evening classes and Saturday sessions.
Although she had always wanted to pursue the academy full-time, leaving the security of permanent employment was not an easy decision. Instead, she continued nurturing the vision while working, dedicating her evenings and weekends to helping young people develop confidence, discipline and self-belief. 🌸
Averil’s own modelling journey began as a professional model under the mentorship of Michelle Brown of Fashions Unlimited, which was then the only modelling agency in the Eastern Cape. Those experiences would later shape the coach and mentor she became.
For close to three decades, Averil has taught runway, grooming, confidence and presentation skills. However, her work has never simply been about teaching someone how to walk a runway.
For her, modelling is a tool that can help people develop confidence, self-respect, discipline, personality and valuable life skills.
In 2017, that passion took on a new form when Averil introduced Mom’s on the Runway. 💕
The programme was created specifically for mothers and women whose busy lives often mean putting everyone else first. It provides a space for women who may have lost confidence, struggled with self-esteem or simply reached a point where they want to reconnect with themselves.
Through lessons covering self-love, posture, body language, runway walking, personal style, dressing for different body shapes, skincare, makeup, hair care, posing and confidence, Mom’s on the Runway encourages women to rediscover themselves and feel comfortable in their own skin.
The programme has welcomed women of different ages, shapes and backgrounds and has grown to include classes in both Malabar and Summerstrand.
Averil is clear that the programme is not about promising to turn every woman into a supermodel. It is about helping each woman become the most confident, elegant and authentic version of herself.
Her belief is simple: when a woman feels good about herself, she carries herself differently.
After years of balancing her career with her passion, Averil eventually took one of the biggest leaps of her life. In 2025, she decided to leave her full-time employment, and in 2026 she committed herself fully to Premiere Models Academy.
Today, she describes it as one of the best decisions she has ever made.
Stepping into entrepreneurship full-time has allowed her to dedicate greater energy to developing the academy, expanding its programmes and creating new opportunities for the people she coaches.
For Averil, 2026 has been a particularly special chapter filled with growth, opportunities and gratitude.
“This year has been nothing but blessings. I can truly only give thanks and praise to God for the opportunities and for opening so many doors.”
Her journey continues to evolve, with projects such as Gentlemen on the Runway, presented in collaboration with Kelston Hyundai Port Elizabeth and Community Chest of the Eastern Cape showing how the vision behind Premiere Models Academy continues to expand and reach new audiences.
What began as evening modelling classes after a full day at work has grown into a platform that helps people see themselves differently.
Averil’s story reminds us that sometimes the dream does not require us to abandon everything overnight. Sometimes we build it quietly, consistently and faithfully until the moment arrives when we are ready to give it our full attention.
