A Good morning to our IWasa Supporters

I invite you once again to get into the habit of Threshing The Floor with us first thing every morning at 5:00 before you start your day. You will receive wisdom and inspiring nuggets that God breathes to our bosoms. This is our way to show gratitude to God. This morning We Thresh The Floor with these wise words.

•An interesting long read...

History has it that when the ancient Chinese decided to live in peace, they made the Great Wall of China; they thought no one could climb it due to its height. During the first 100 years of its existence, the Chinese were invaded thrice and every time, the hordes of enemy infantry had no need of penetrating or climbing over the wall, because each time, they bribed the guards and came through the doors.

The Chinese built the wall, but forgot the character - building of the wall-guards. Though the Great Wall has over the years become a powerful symbol of the country’s enduring strength and spirit, but it has actually been a good reminder to the Chinese of the superiority of human character.

The Chinese realised much later that the best defence against the enemy is not a fortified wall, but a fortified character. Thus, the building of human character comes before building of anything else.

Prayer is not EVERYTHING! Build relationships, and don’t ever forget that God will always use man. Be mindful of your words and how you speak to people. Work seriously on your character and attitude towards life.

I want to say emphatically that *character is not optional;* it is sacrosanct to the future that God has planned for you. No matter where you place prayers, character matters. *The greatest fraud in life is religion without character.* A man without character is recklessly alive. Right now I'm thinking how many so called Christians lack CHARACTER....!!! Some people left the church because it suddenly became a Toxic Character less environment. Lord help US!

William Shakespeare captured it succinctly when he said: *“The fault is not in our stars, but in ourselves* .”

Peter Schutz, the former chief executive officer of Porsche said: “ *HIRE CHARACTER; TRAIN SKILLS* .”

Lastly, back in the days when Germany was divided, a huge wall separated East and West Berlin.

One day, some people in East Berlin took a truck load of garbage and dumped it on the West Berlin side.

The people of West Berlin could have done the same thing, but they didn't.

Instead they took a truck load of canned goods, bread, milk and other provisions, and neatly stacked it on the East Berlin side.

On top of this stack they placed the sign:

*“EACH GIVES WHAT HE HAS"*

How very true! You can only give what you have.

What do you have inside of you?
Is it *hate* or *love* ?
*Violence* or *peace* ?
*Death* or *life* ?
*Capacity to build* or *capacity to destroy* ?

What have you acquired over the years?
*Team spirit* or *pull down* architecture ?

*"EACH GIVES WHAT HE HAS"*

NORTHERN CAPE NOW ITS YOUR TURN

Many learners in deep rural villages in SA drop out of school every winter for no reason other than they have no shoes and cannot walk to school barefoot in the biting cold.

Poverty and unemployment have left many rural & urban parents unable to afford school shoes for their children.

Come, January.... it pains one's heart to watch at the excitement of Bundles of Joy from affording families proudly and neatly READY TO START THE SCHOOL YEAR IN THEIR FULL UNIFORMS and YET next to them see children WITH TORN OLD SHOES and some WITHOUT

It is also so painful seeing children walking bare foot to school in winter, especially knowing that there is nothing you can do to make their situation better.

Unemployment is a huge problem in SA but thank God for God's Girls Shoes Project. Many kids will be able to concentrate at school without having to worry about cold and how different they are from others.

SIX LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES TO LEARN FROM AN EAGLE....*

1. *Eagles fly Alone and at High Altitudes.*
They don't fly with sparrows, ravens, and other small birds.

*MEANING*; Stay away from narrow-minded people, those that bring you down. Eagle flies with Eagles. Keep good company.

2. *Eagles have an Accurate Vision.* They have the ability to focus on something as far as 5km away. No matter the obstacles, the eagle will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it.

*MEANING*; Have a vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacles and you will succeed.

3. *Eagles do not Eat Dead things. They Feed only on Fresh Prey.*

*MEANING*; Do not rely on your past success, keep looking for new frontiers to conquer. Leave your past where it belongs, in the past.

4. *Eagles Love the Storm.*
When clouds gather, the eagle gets excited, the eagle uses the storms wind to lift itself higher. Once it finds the wind of the storm, the eagle uses the raging storm to lift itself above the clouds. This gives the eagle an opportunity to glide and rest its wings. In the meantime, all the other birds hide in the branches and leaves of the tree.

*MEANING*; Face your challenges head on knowing that these will make you emerge stronger and better than you were. We can use the storms of life to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid of challenges, rather they relish them and use them profitably.

5. *Eagles Prepare for Training;*
They remove the feathers and soft grass in the nest so that the young ones get uncomfortable in preparation for flying and eventually flies/ when it becomes unbearable to stay in the nest./

*MEANING*; Leave your Comfort Zone, there is No Growth there.

6. *When the Eagle Grows Old,*
His feathers becomes weak and cannot take him as fast and as high as it should. This makes him weak and could make him die. So he retires to a place far away in the mountains. While there, he plucks out the weak feathers on his body and breaks its beaks and claws against the rocks until he is completely bare; a very bloody and painful process. Then he stays in this hiding place until he has grown new feathers, new beaks and claws and then he comes out flying higher than before.

*MEANING*; We occasionally need to shed off old habit no matter how difficult, things that burden us or add no value to our lives should be let go of.

*NEVER GIVE UP,*
*BE AN EAGLE
