The year-end review should never be the first conversation.

As performance appraisal season approaches, ask yourself:
Will your employees walk into the room knowing where they stand or hearing concerns for the first time?

A meaningful appraisal starts before the meeting.

✅ Review the whole year, not just the last few weeks.
✅ Use specific examples linked to agreed expectations.
✅ Recognise achievements as well as areas for improvement.
✅ Give employees space to share their perspective.
✅ Agree on practical goals, support and follow-up dates.

If regular feedback has slipped, start the conversation now. Give people time to reflect and prepare.

An appraisal should leave both parties clear on what is working, what needs attention and what happens next.

✔️ Discipline – Avoid knee-jerk disciplinary action. Establish the facts and follow a fair, consistent process.

Most importantly: don’t assume that every absence tomorrow should be treated the same way.

I’ve watched women get their smiles back in one weekend.

And I think that is why my Ladies Weekends are so special to me! I see the light return to the women who spend this special weekend with me!

Women arrive on Friday carrying so much. Work. Family. Responsibilities. Decisions. Sometimes hurt. Sometimes uncertainty. And often, simply the exhaustion that comes from being everything to everyone for too long.

Most arrive not quite sure what to expect..

They settle in. We share a meal. Strangers start talking. Someone laughs. Shoulders begin to relax. And slowly, the outside world becomes a little quieter.

Over the weekend we talk about you - Who you are.. How you are.. What you need.. What matters to you.. And perhaps most importantly - where to from here.

But it isn't three days of only serious conversations.

We laugh. We eat. We enjoy a glass of w**e. We spend time in nature. We get creative. We connect. There are quiet moments and silly moments. There are times to be serious and times to just be... But most of all: A safe space to just be yourself!

And somewhere between Friday and Sunday, I see it happen.
The energy changes. The laughter gets louder. The faces soften.
The smiles come back!

You don't come to an Inner Bloom Weekend to become somebody new. You come to find yourself again. To find your joy again!
