One of the things we love most about what we do is the constant creative gear change.

One moment we're working on an event programme, the next we're editing a podcast, designing websites, developing social media content, creating an executive summary or creating a new logo and brand story.

Designing for multiple clients isn't simply about making things look good. It's about understanding the visual language of each brand, the people you're trying to connect with and the purpose behind every piece of content.

Every client is different. Every project asks something new of us. And honestly, that's what keeps it exciting.

It challenges us to think differently, stay curious and keep growing creatively every single day.

Here are a few of our recent favourites that we haven't shared in a while.

Creativity isn't something we switch on and off. It's a lifestyle and a mindset.

For some, it's just the backdrop...
The email that lands in your inbox before an event. The brochure you flick through while waiting for the first session to begin.

For me, it's an opportunity to create something that helps people navigate a day of learning, connection and discovery.

This week, I had the privilege of creating the conference brochures and AV content for the PA Forum VA Conference and Learning & Development Conference in Birmingham, UK.

As always, what delegates see on the day is the result of weeks of building, checking, editing and finalising behind the scenes.

One of the things I love most about what I do is seeing that work out in the wild. Sitting behind my laptop in Saldanha, South Africa, creating content that supports events taking place thousands of miles away.

It's a reminder that work today has no borders.

A huge thank you to PA Forum, Daniel Skermer and Mel Bates for trusting me with this work year after year. Your support, partnership and confidence in what I do means more than you know.

Today, Marabou Media turns 5!
Five years of creating, building, experimenting, and helping our clients show their value.

Your business name matters more than you think…

I can’t tell you how many times we work with clients who come to us with names that are:

* too generic to rank on search
* already taken (somewhere… somehow)
* or so complicated that no one remembers them

Your website name isn’t just a URL, it’s your first digital impression.

So, if you are currently exploring names and domains, here’s what to keep in mind:

Keep it short and simple

1–3 words is ideal.
Easy to spell. Easy to remember.
If someone hears it once, they should be able to type it without guessing.
Be brandable, not basic
Generic names get lost online.
A strong name should feel unique, memorable, and give you room to grow as your business evolves.
Avoid the technical traps
Numbers and hyphens cause confusion.
Keep it clean. Keep it clear.
Use keywords wisely

Including a relevant word like media, marketing, or design can support your SEO and help the right people find you.

Do the checks first

* Domain available?
* Social handles free?
* No trademarks?
* Not too similar to a competitor?

This simple step saves a lot of headaches later.

The right name should feel natural, strong, and future-ready - just like your brand. The name is the cornerstone and first step! Choose wisely 😊
