UALIFYING CRITERIA
• National Diploma: Environmental Health or equivalent qualification
• Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an Environmental Health Practitioner
• Driving licence and a vehicle for work
• Experience in municipal health services will be an added advantage

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS TO BE PERFORMED FOR EIGHT HOURS PER DAY FROM MONDAY TO FRIDAY

To ensure the implementation of an environmental health service according to policy and procedural directives, including the following activities:
• Food control
• Waste management
• Chemical safety
• Health surveillance of premises
• Prevention of communicable diseases
• Environmental pollution control
• Disposal of the dead
• Water quality monitoring
• Vector control
• Role in implementing COVID-19 prevention strategies
