Thanks to Vumacam and the SAPS for helping us track down this vehicle. 🚨

Hatfield CID, supported by the South African Police Service (SAPS) and private security, intercepted a vehicle linked to vehicle-related crime after it was identified through Vumacam’s LPR network.

Upon interception, two occupants were detained and car-breaking implements were recovered. CCTV footage placed both individuals at the scene of the reported crime, supporting the ongoing investigation.

Both suspects were arrested and detained at Sunnyside SAPS, while the vehicle was impounded pending further investigation.

Zero tolerance for crime.

Following a common robbery, information regarding a vehicle linked to the incident was shared.

With assistance from the Vumacam LPR network, Hatfield CID, supported by the South African Police Service (SAPS), intercepted the vehicle. Information gathered during the investigation led law enforcement to a second suspect, who was intercepted and arrested.

The vehicle linked to the crime was impounded, while further investigations are underway.

Hatfield CID, supported by Vumacam's LPR network, identified a possible cloned vehicle after it was located in Hatfield.

Following the identification, the vehicle was inspected, where officers discovered two different VIN numbers – one displayed on the licence disc and another retrieved using an OBD reader, revealing the vehicle's true identity.

Further investigation by ICB confirmed that the vehicle had been deliberately cloned to evade authorities.

The vehicle will be impounded, with further investigations to follow.

Using the Vumacam LPR network, a vehicle linked to suspects wanted for spare wheel theft was identified and intercepted through the coordinated efforts of Lyttelton South African Police Service (SAPS), Hatfield CID supported by private security.

During the investigation, officers discovered that the vehicle being used by the suspects had been cloned. The VIN number did not match the displayed registration plates, and the licence disc was found to be falsified.

Three suspects were arrested in connection with a 2023 case, and the cloned vehicle has been impounded pending further investigation.

A vehicle wanted in connection with a residential burglary investigation was identified on the Vumacam’s LPR network, triggering a coordinated response.

Gauteng Department of e-Government operators, together with the South African Police Service (SAPS) and Hatfield CID members, responded to the alert and located the vehicle. The coordinated operation led to the arrest of a suspect, who was taken into custody for further investigation.

The vehicle was impounded as part of the ongoing investigation.
