Before getting into the final stage of posting online, what are you trying to achieve on social media? Is it sales, vanity metrics or are you trying to raise awareness? Once you’ve established what you want to achieve you will be able to create content that resonates with your followers and your goals will be met eventually.
So, I have created a step by step guide that will assist you in knowing where to start. So here goes…
1. Create content pillars that answer to the marketing funnel. The funnel goes like this: Awareness – Interest – Desire – Action – Loyalty
2. Thereafter decide on the duration you will be putting out information in each funnel stage. E.g. The awareness stage will run for two weeks. In those two weeks your content will revolve around raising awareness only, under the pillars you have set for YOUR company.
3. For instance, your company pillars may look like this: Insight, Inspire and Services. This means for the awareness stage you will be thinking of ways you will be communicating to give insight, to inspire and to share your services to your followers.
4. Once you have established all this, you can now focus on the delivery of your content, the creative part. You will start writing copy that speaks to your pillars under the funnel stage you are in, followed by the content format that will support your copy.
5. When done, you will now be ready to publish your content with direction and goals to achieve.
