Solar Pane:
Solar Panel is one of the most important parts of solar lights as it converts energy into electricity. There are two types of solar panels: Mono-crystalline and Poly-crystalline. Conversion rate of mono-crystalline is much higher than that of poly-crystalline.
2. Lighting Fixture:
Naledi Nkajezi Enterprise (pty) ltd uses specifically LED Lighting for a number of reasons. LED Lighting, compared to conventional lighting, provides much higher Lumens with lower energy consumption. The energy consumption of LED fixture is at least 50% lower than the “traditional” source of street lights. LEDs lack of warm up time also allows for use of motion detectors for additional efficiency gains.
3. Rechargeable battery:
The battery stores the electricity from the solar panel during the day and provides energy to the fixture during the night. The life cycle of the battery is very important to the lifetime of the light and the capacity of the battery will affect the backup days of the lights. At the moment there are two types of batteries: Lead Acid Battery and Gel Cell Deep Cycle Battery.
4. Charge Controller:
The controller is also one of the most important components for Solar street lights. It can be programmed to switch on/off charging and lighting. Modern controllers are programmable so that the user can be able to decide the appropriate chance of charging, lighting and dimming.
