*MEMBERS & ROLE PLAYERS INVOLVED:*
Olievenhoutbosch SAPS, Wierdabrug SAPS, Reload OPS, Buraq Security, Laudium CPF, SRU, Private Eye, Olieven CPF, Specialized Defence Group, R&D Risk Services, Axon, SDS PROTECTION, TRT K9, GTU, APU, Watchtower, Afri-Forum and multiple other role players.
*INCIDENT SUMMARY:*
On 2026/09/05 at approximately 22:30, a community member approached security members on duty and reported unknown males in possession of unlicensed fi****ms at a tavern in Nkandla Hostels, Ext 36.
All members proceeded to the tavern. Upon approach, occupants inside the tavern opened fire on members, discharging approximately six (6) rounds. Members took cover and tactically surrounded the premises.
Loud verbal commands were given for suspects to comply. Suspects refused to comply willingly and minimum force was used to secure them inside the tavern.
*ACTIONS & SEIZURES:*
- Four (4) male suspects were detained, cuffed and arrested.
- On the floor next to suspects: 4x spent cartridge casings.
- Search of tavern revealed:
- 1x Black PX Storm fi***rm (serial numbers removed) - hidden behind a deep freeze
- 1x Black zip-up baggie containing suspected drugs
LCRC was summoned for processing. Drug test confirmed positive for He**in. Randburg Commander was called to scene.
The fi***rm is believed to be linked to a policeman's fi***rm taken during a robbery earlier this year in Olievenhoutbosch.
Gunshot residue samples were taken from all four suspects' hands.
Randburg Police Canter Reg: BWN039B handed over to Lt. Colonel Ramoshaba, Randburg.
District Duty Officer was informed. No injuries sustained.
