Today marks the beginning of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and it starts a month of honoring our heroes gone far too soon. We have lost so many incredible heroes along this journey, and we will use this month to intentionally remember them all. We speak their names, we hold their families close in our hearts, and we promise that their radiant light and fierce courage will never be extinguished from our memories. Their legacies are woven into the very fabric of who we are.

Yet, even as we pause to remember those we so deeply miss, we also use this month to passionately celebrate and honor our heroes who are still fighting every single day. To the children currently navigating long hospital stays, exhausting treatments, and days filled with both fear and extraordinary bravery: you are our greatest inspiration. We stand in awe of your unyielding resilience. And to the beautiful children who are now cancer free our triumphant survivors who have crossed that incredibly hard fought finish line your victories are the beacon of hope that guides this entire community forward. You remind us every day why this battle is always worth fighting.

Because at Superhero Cancer Kids, it will always be about the children. It is about looking past the clinical monitors and treatments to see the incredible child fighting underneath. It is about showing up for every single fight. It means standing beside families not just when the news is hopeful, but when the days are impossibly dark. It means wrapping this entire community in relentless love, prayers, and support.
No child should ever have to wear this heavy cape, but since they do, we will make absolutely sure they never have to fly alone. We are a family forged in both unimaginable heartbreak and breathtaking miracles, and this September, we raise our voices louder than ever for every child touched by this disease.

💛 Something very special is happening this September… 💛

True SOLAR Solutions, together with Superhero Cancer Kids, Leon Lennox, Full Circle Solar and our amazing friends in the solar industry, are coming together to organise something special for the incredible little warriors fighting cancer. 🚗✨

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and we’ll be donating ride-on cars to children in oncology wards — bringing a little bit of joy, excitement and freedom to children who spend far too much of their lives in hospital. 💛

We would love to invite companies, suppliers, businesses and individuals in our industry and beyond to join us and be part of this special initiative.

Women in Solar: this week we're spotlighting Kirstie Meintjes, founder of True SOLAR Solutions — and someone who's built a business people talk about for more than just good installations.

Through partnerships with cancer charities, Kirstie's team donates ride-on cars to children in hospital oncology wards. It's not part of the sales pitch. It's just part of how True Solar operates.

That same instinct shows up in the business itself. After several years working in the industry, Kirstie started True Solar on the idea that customer service is where most companies fall short. Her team now brings a combined 32 years of experience to residential and commercial installations across South Africa.

This is what Women's Month is about for us: recognising the women building real businesses in this industry, not just marking a date on the calendar.
