🌍✨ Imvelaphi History & Heritage Schools Program – Official UNESCO Partner ✨🌍

We are proud to announce that Imvelaphi History and Heritage Schools Program is an official partner of UNESCO, working together to advance heritage education, cultural preservation, and inclusive learning across South Africa 🇿🇦.

Through this partnership, Imvelaphi supports UNESCO’s global mandate of safeguarding tangible and intangible heritage, promoting quality education, and empowering young people to understand their history as a foundation for identity, social cohesion, and sustainable development.

Our program focuses on taking learners—especially from under-resourced and rural communities—to heritage sites, cultural institutions, and living history spaces. These experiences bring South African history out of textbooks and into real life, encouraging critical thinking, pride, and a deeper connection to our shared past.
Working with UNESCO strengthens Imvelaphi’s commitment to:

Heritage-based education
🏛️ Preservation of African history and memory
🌱 Youth development and cultural sustainability
🤝 Access to global best practices in education and culture
Together, we are shaping informed, culturally grounded future generations—one learner, one story, and one heritage site at a time.

The Rehearsal Room, a vibrant space where theatre meets innovation.

This year, we're excited to embark on an ambitious journey to introduce theatre arts to primary and secondary school students. Our mission is to lay the groundwork for a lifelong appreciation of the arts, particularly in disadvantaged communities.

Through our flagship program, Actcaffe, we'll offer free dance, drama, and art workshops to young people who might otherwise miss out on these enriching experiences. We believe that by providing a creative outlet, we can help keep children off the streets and away from the influences of crime and street life.

Moreover, our program aims to provide a therapeutic outlet for kids who may be coping with difficult family circumstances. At Rehearsal Room, we're convinced that nurturing the creativity and confidence of our young people is essential to building a brighter future for our country.

Join us in our quest to reshape the minds of Africa's next generation. Together, let's ignite a passion for the arts that will inspire, educate, and empower our youth for years to come.
