1981 - Start of dream
I, SG Smith, had the wonderful privilege to live my dream while I worked.
I registered as Chartered Accountant (CA SA)(SAICA) and registered as Registered Auditor (RE) (IRBA) in 1981.
Practice years
I practice as sole practitioner from 1981 to Feb 2016 as SG Smith & Kie/Co. From March 2016 I practiced with partner in SG Auditors Inc.
I have obtained my Post Gradual Diploma in Forensic Accounting from UP. I supplied forensic services over period of 30+ years to various client local and overseas. South African Reserve Bank, SARS, State Attorney's office, Maize Board, Sovereign Group of Companies (Australia, Mauritius, Singapore, USA & Canada) attorneys and various other are couple oof institutions and entities and companies are part of my resume.
In 2018 I was appointed by High Court Pretoria to investigate as forensic expert into affairs of Ingwenyama Simhulu Trust, a trust that received property in Malelaan/Komatipoort area after successful land reform on behalf of about 10 000 beneficiaries. I still act as interim trustee of IST with 2 other persons as co-trustees. (2018- )

Stepdown from professional practice
After 41 years of practice as CA and RA I decided to part with the auditing profession and deregistered with IRBA at end of 2022.
I am honorable member of SAICA.
I do consult work in various fields of expertise but spend time more time with my adorable wife Elzabie Smith and reside in Hermanus to enjoy the wonderful area and still live my dream in full.
I have revisited my trademark name of SG Smith & Kie/Co to perform services as consultant now.
I have vacated my office, for more than 30 years, in Pretoria Tuine. Bit sad but there is a time to come and time to go.

I have met wonderful people and employed some of the best personnel available over my practice period. I had privilege to assist some article clerks to obtain CA and practice as RA's and other that used their experience to great heights in their own working environment. Good to you I am proud of you all.
For all clients that I have lovely personal friendships thank you to you all. I enjoyed my participation in your successful business and life.

Our Stefanus G Smith was appointed in May 2018 as trustee and to investigate and report to court on Ingwenyama Simhulu Trust. The trust received farms out of one of the biggest Land Reform claims in South Africa. His assisted court to remove previous Trustees. In 2019 to other Trustees and SG Smith were appointed as Interim Trustees of the trust. IST has joint venture with RCL and operate as Libuyile Farming Services. The turn around of the trust is remarkable and now very successful. SG Smith is director of Libuyile Farming Services that produce sugar cane and bananas on farms at Crocodile Bridge in Komatipoort area. The company is biggest sugar cane producer in South Africa. SG Smith is trustee on various trust due to his exceptional forensic and financial skills and Registered Auditor and Chartered Accountant.

STEFANUS G SMITH has been reappointed as Interim Trustee, by court order 5 April 2019, of INGWENYAMA SIMHULU TRUST (IST). This appointment if for one year. Ernel Masilela and Jacob van Garderen will join his as Interim Trustees during this year.
Congratulations!!!!

SG Smith will continue as Director of Libuyile Farming Services (Pty) ltd the joint venture company between IST and RCL.
