OPERATIONAL REPORT
On the morning of 26 August 2026 at approximately 07h11, information was received regarding a hijacked Volvo horse and trailer transporting stock valued at approximately R1,200,000.00. The vehicle was en route to Zimbabwe when the tracking company identified that it had deviated from its planned route, raising an immediate alert.

The vehicle's last known tracking location was provided to CSI Special Operations Unit, where the information was immediately relayed to the relevant CSI operational and reaction members.

CSI Special Operations and Reaction members responded without delay and successfully located the truck within approximately six minutes of the hijacking being positively confirmed.

The transport company was subsequently able to make contact with the driver. It was established that the driver had been dropped off at the Pumelani Toll Plaza, north of Pretoria, and was confirmed to be safe and unharmed.

The hijacked Volvo horse and trailer, together with the stock, was located parked alongside the N1 between Garsfontein and Rigel Avenue.

CSI members secured the situation and remained involved until the relevant role players had attended to and cleared the scene.

Following the successful recovery, the truck and its full load of stock were transported back to the trucking company's depot in Isando, where arrangements were made for alternative transportation to ensure that the stock could continue its journey to Zimbabwe.

OUTCOME
- Driver located safe and unharmed.
- Hijacked Volvo horse and trailer successfully recovered.
- All stock, valued at approximately R1,200,000.00, recovered.
- No loss of stock reported.
- Vehicle and stock safely returned to the transport company's depot in Isando.

CONCLUSION
The successful recovery demonstrates the effectiveness of rapid communication between the tracking company, CSI Special Operations and the CSI Reaction Unit.

The immediate dissemination of tracking information and rapid deployment of CSI operational resources resulted in the swift recovery of the hijacked truck and its high-value cargo, while the driver was located safe and unharmed.

INCIDENT SUMMARY
On the morning of 26 August 2026, the CSI Security Control Room & CCTV Monitoring Centre received an alert generated by the company’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Camera Monitoring System.

The AI monitoring software identified a suspicious individual approaching a monitored fence line, allowing the CSI Control Room to detect the potential intrusion at an early stage.

The Control Room immediately assessed the activation and dispatched a CSI Armed Response Unit to investigate and respond to the incident.

The CSI Armed Response Unit responded without delay and arrived at the location while the suspect was actively attempting to gain access by jumping over the monitored fence.

The response officers successfully intercepted and apprehended the suspect before he could proceed further into the secured area.

SAPS HANDOVER
Following the apprehension, the CSI Armed Response Unit requested the assistance of Brooklyn SAPS.

SAPS members attended the scene, and the apprehended suspect was handed over to Brooklyn SAPS for further investigation and the necessary legal procedures.

TECHNOLOGY & RESPONSE EFFECTIVENESS
This incident demonstrates the effectiveness of combining advanced AI-powered CCTV monitoring with rapid armed response capabilities.

The AI monitoring system provided an early warning of suspicious movement at the fence line, enabling the CSI Control Room to immediately activate the Armed Response Unit. The rapid communication between the Control Room and response team resulted in the suspect being intercepted while actively attempting to breach the perimeter.

CONCLUSION
The successful apprehension highlights the importance of proactive security, intelligent surveillance technology and rapid response.

PREVENTION OF CABLE THEFT

Incident Summary
On the above-mentioned date, members of the CSI Special Operations Unit and CSI Armed Response Unit responded to an operational call at the Weather Station area.

Upon arrival and while standing off in the area, the CSI members immediately encountered approximately seven male suspects gathered near the location.

As the suspects noticed the presence of the CSI teams, one individual from within the group opened fire towards the responding members. The attack created an immediate armed threat, and the suspects subsequently fled the scene on foot in the direction of the GreenBelt bush area.

Operational Response
CSI members maintained tactical awareness and immediately reacted to the armed threat while securing the area. Brooklyn SAPS was involved in the operation, and a coordinated pursuit was initiated.

Members of the CSI Special Operations Unit, CSI Armed Response Unit and Brooklyn SAPS entered the dense bush area along the GreenBelt in an attempt to locate and apprehend the fleeing suspects.

A thorough search of the surrounding bush and possible escape routes was conducted. Despite the coordinated ground search, the suspects managed to evade arrest by utilizing the dense vegetation and terrain to escape.

Outcome
Although the suspects were not apprehended, the rapid response by CSI Security successfully disrupted the group's activities and prevented the situation from escalating further.

The coordinated operation between CSI Special Operations, CSI Armed Response, and Brooklyn SAPS demonstrated effective cooperation during a high-risk armed incident.

Conclusion
CSI Security remains committed to the protection of the community and will continue working closely with the South African Police Service in combating criminal activity within the operational area.

OPERATIONAL REPORT

Information was received regarding a possibly wanted vehicle that had entered the basement parking area at Lynnwood Bridge.

CSI T11 and R3 immediately proceeded to Lynnwood Bridge to locate the vehicle and assist the members on scene.

The vehicle was successfully located, and the driver was detained while the investigating officer was contacted and the vehicle's status and circulation were verified.

Further investigation established that the vehicle was reportedly linked to an armed robbery in Eastlynn. A lookout for the vehicle had been circulated through various security groups on 6 June 2026.

The driver and vehicle were subsequently handed over to the investigating officer from Villieria SAPS.

All relevant role players attended the scene. The suspect was transported to Villieria SAPS, while the vehicle was booked into SAP13 VCIU for further investigation.

OUTCOME

- 1 BMW Recovered and Booked into SAP13 VCIU

OPERATIONAL SUCCESS

INCIDENT DETAILS
CSI Security received a call from a community member residing in Gloxinia Road reporting that a gym pipe had become loose and fallen onto her head, resulting in an injury and bleeding.
A CSI Security team was immediately dispatched to the location to provide assistance and assess the situation.

Upon arrival, a community member, Neil, was already assisting the injured person. Neil attended to the wound and provided initial first aid, successfully controlling and stopping the bleeding.

The CSI team remained on scene and ensured that the injured person was stable and adequately assisted.
The patient was subsequently handed over to her family members for further care and monitoring.

ACTION TAKEN
Emergency assistance request received by CSI Security.

CSI Security team dispatched to Gloxinia Road.
Injured person assessed and assisted on scene.
Initial first aid provided by community member Neil.

Bleeding successfully controlled.
Patient remained under observation until handed over to family.
Patient was safely handed over to her family for further care.

OUTCOME
The incident was successfully managed on scene. The patient's bleeding was stopped, and she was handed over safely to her family members.

OPERATIONAL REPORT
A lookout was received from the Old East Security Forum for a small white hatchback vehicke that fled from the BP filling station on Dely road in Hazelwood after a passenger from the vehicle grabbed a ladys cellphone.

CSI R1 went to the filling station in a attempt to get more accurate information regarding the incident and managed to get a complete registration number and make of the vehicle involved from eyewitnesses the information was also posted on the Old East Security Forum for more effective information sharing purposes.

Later at approximately 03h50 CSI R3 vehicle spotted the same vehicle on the corners of Lynwood and Brooklyn road and immediately informed T11 and R1 vehicles close to his location.

These members quickly joint in a short highspeed persuit after the suspected cellphone thieves tried to evade arrest. The vehicle was successfully stopped on the corner of Jan Shoba and Burnett street. With additional support from CSI R4

The 2 occupants of the vehicle was detained without incident and SAPS was informed. Brooklyn SAPS attended the scene and the victim of the earlier robbery was informed while the suspects and vehicle was taken to Brooklyn SAPS.

On arrival at the police station we were met by the lady who was robbed and she could identify the man who grabbed her cellphone.

The suspect was arrested and all the necessary statements taken and the vehicle booked to SAP13 VCIU for futher investigation on a charge for used in commission of a crime.

OPERATIONAL REPORT

At approximately 17:11 on 06 August 2026, an urgent request for assistance was received from members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) who had encountered an active crime scene in Nelmapius Extension 2.

SAPS members had come across a Toyota Hilux that had been reported hijacked. The vehicle was being stripped by suspects who were attempting to gain access to and remove the vehicle's tracking device.

Upon noticing the marked SAPS vehicle, two suspects fled from the vehicle on foot and entered the surrounding informal settlement.

The SAPS members initially attempted to pursue the suspects on foot. Due to the circumstances and the need to secure the recovered vehicle and crime scene, the officers subsequently returned to the vehicle and secured the scene while awaiting additional assistance.

CSI SPECIAL OPERATIONS RESPONSE

Three members of the CSI Special Operations Unit were immediately deployed to assist the SAPS members. The CSI team arrived at the scene within minutes and was shortly thereafter supported by members of Proshield Security.

The responding teams assisted with securing the area and conducting a further inspection of the recovered vehicle.

During the inspection, two electronic jamming devices were discovered inside the vehicle. The devices were connected to an external power supply.

Several tools were also located inside the vehicle, believed to have been used by the suspects to strip the vehicle's interior in an attempt to locate and remove the tracking device.

VEHICLE CONFIRMATION

Further investigation confirmed that the Toyota Hilux had been hijacked in the Silverton area.

At the time the vehicle was recovered, the complainant was reportedly in the process of opening a case at Silverton Police Station.

The recovery of the vehicle therefore occurred while the related criminal investigation was still being initiated.

SCENE MANAGEMENT

All relevant role players were notified and attended the scene.

The recovered vehicle and evidence will be handed over to the appropriate SAPS SAP13 / Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit (VCIU) for processing, forensic examination and further investigation.

The recovered jamming devices, tools and other items located inside the vehicle will form part of the investigation and may assist SAPS in identifying the suspects and establishing their involvement in the hijacking and attempted removal of the tracking equipment.

The suspects fled the scene and were not apprehended at the time of the initial response. Further investigation will be conducted by SAPS.

ANOTHER ANPR SUCCESS

Incident Summary
At approximately 14:00 on 05 August 2026, information was received regarding a vehicle that had been circulated as stolen in connection with a Boksburg case dating back to August 2025. The vehicle was reported to be travelling along Lynnwood Road towards Brooklyn Road.

CSI Security units R1, R3, T3, and T11 immediately commenced a coordinated search for the vehicle. A short while later, the vehicle was positively identified at the corner of Justice Mahomed Drive and Rupert Street, where it was safely intercepted and brought to a stop without incident.

The incident was reported to Brooklyn SAPS, who confirmed that the vehicle was still actively listed as stolen. While awaiting the arrival of SAPS members, Interactive Security and Proshield Security assisted with securing the scene and ensuring public safety.

Upon the arrival of SAPS, both the driver and the recovered vehicle were taken to Brooklyn Police Station. The investigating officer was contacted, and all the necessary procedures were completed to have the vehicle booked into the appropriate SAP13 Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit (VCIU) for further processing and investigation. The driver will be handed over to the investigating officer for further legal proceedings.
