A client of mine in Brooklyn is looking for a part-time Guest House Manager twice a week to work at their Guest House:
MUST HAVE HOSPITALITY EXPERIENCE
Assist with the day-to-day duties on the Guesthouse Manager’s/ receptionist’s days off.
Respond to all guest queries and requests.
Process check- ins and check outs, payments, and minibar charges on night bridge.
Make reservations.
Process cash and card payments.
Make breakfast for guests (minimal cooking required).
Assist Housekeepers with issuing of stock and doing room checks.
Make sure guest amenities are stocked in the rooms.
Make sure all TV’s, decoders and air-conditioners are in working order.
Assist Housekeepers where needed.
Assist with filing and other administrative duties, including purchases and invoices for accounting system.
Inspect property for maintenance issues.
Provide proper handover to manager about guests and premises.
Will be required to buy stock in the surrounding areas.
Ensure that generator is filled.
Requirements:
Minimum Matric.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be a confident driver.
English speaking. Other languages will be a bonus.
Must have previous experience in reception, hospitality, or service industry.
Good communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work independently, be self-sufficient, responsible and take pride in your work.
Applicants must have a friendly but professional demeanour, with both the guests and colleagues.
Must have own transport or reside in the surrounding areas.
Compensation:
R500/day
