The Noguira Express 4030 collects, presses, binds and counts uniform and compact bales – of varios types of hay – such as lucerne, oats, clover, rye, wheat straw, eragristis, soybean stalks, maize rests and rice stalks.

Baling forage has two advantages
a. By baling the forage into a compact, regular shape – you are able to handle and the material easier, and in a more compact space – allowing you to protect the hay from the elements, saving you space and labour
b. By baling the forage, you are protecting the nutrients in the hay – due to slower degradation of the hay – compared to leaving it on the field, or storing it loose.

By harvesting wet feed corn at 25 – 35% moisture and cracking it with the Silonog Cracker and compacting it in silage bags and storing it for a high energy, highly digestible and cost effective feed source while the grain can be harvested faster and the residues are still palatable to cattle, is an attractive option. The wet, cracked grain can also be stored very effectively in silage bags for use after 3-4 weeks of fermentation.

Read here why it may be important for you to store wet grain in silage bags

By harvesting wet feed corn at 25 – 35% moisture and cracking it with the Silonog Cracker and compacting it in silage bags and storing it for a high energy, highly digestible and cost effective feed source while the grain can be harvested faster and the residues are still palatable to cattle, is an attractive option. The wet, cracked grain can also be stored very effectively in silage bags for use after 3-4 weeks of fermentation.

The following benefits are in addition to the above:

· Starch availability: The cracked wet grain makes the starch available to rumen microbes which significantly increases digestibility compared to dry or whole grain and therefore maximizes nutrient absorption.

· The fermentation process further increases digestibility for a high energy, lower acid feed that compliments the digestibility of silage and hay.

· Properly cracked grain prevents whole grain from passing through the digestive process without being absorbed, which prevents significant wastage.

· Grain does not need to be dried if it is important to harvest earlier and prevents losses due to high moisture, poor climatic conditions and insects.
· The high moisture content of the grain causes better compaction – therefore less storage space, and removes oxygen for better fermentation.

· Grain that is underperforming and will yield a poor harvest can be harvested earlier to prevent further deterioration and therefore still combat further losses.
